What a game. Canberra players were brutal. Raider player were physical. They were hitting hard. I don't understand Broncos recruitment. From last 5 season Broncos struggle for big and beast front row. What the hell wrong with Broncos recruitment?

You don't have to be big to be brutal. You have to know how to tackle. It's all technique.

A good example is to drive up and into the rib cage, below where the ball is carried.. Thaiday can do, Gillett does it, Tunza did it. It hurts, it stops them in their tracks.

Jesus H Christ. I hope Wayne shows our boys the Canberra Melbourne game .Talk about defense winning a game

Wayne just needs to show them the game against Storm last year.

And the game against the Cowboys in the first week of the finals.

Show them what this team is capable of with the right attitude.

A good kick chase like we did against the Eels is going to be the most important thing in this game. Macca, Hunt and Milford need to share this load, turn the big Dogs forwards around, trap them in the corners and inside their own 30 as much as possible.

This is what they did in 2014 and it worked perfectly.

It tired their big forwards out and in the second half, we just blew them off the park.

Just hoping Matt Gilletts shoulder holds up, in this game knowing he has been cursed with injury there.
Especially against this bulldogs brutal pack.

Would love to see Blair put some pressure on Reynolds... Up on him quickly and just bash the shit out of him all night. When the little grub starts getting frustrated he looses his mind and is always good for some bone headed shit.

It's good for a few knock ons from loose carries as well. Thaiday has been excellent at this in the past. I'm hoping he comes in fired up as he did for the Roosters last year. He thrives on a battle. In terms of finding a forward pack to challenge yourself against, the Bulldogs would be up there.

Absolutely.

What puzzles me about Thaiday is that he doesn't get fired up all that often, although of late there has been a definite improvement in his energy (and not to forget some great line running). I can never get out of my head how brutal he was v JWH last year (and fabulous technique) and if only he could reproduce "angry Sam" every week, then along with Gillett, our defence would be twice as fearsome, and Glenn off the bench would be even more of a weapon than he is already.

Here is the Early Mail from the CM

BRONCOS V BULLDOGS
Thursday, Suncorp Stadium 7.50pm

Broncos: Anthony Milford didn’t train on Monday but he is still expected to play. Jonus Pearson will retain his place on the right wing after scoring a double on debut. Jordan Kahu is a chance of returning at right centre for Tom Opacic.

Bulldogs:Greg Eastwood will return in the second row for Raymond Faitala-Mariner. No other changes are expected.

No Cookies | The Courier Mail

Although i think they meant that Kahu is a chance to return at left center for Opacic

Gotta love the Courier Mail.

None of their fucking journalists do any research.

Just like they didn't do any research when they said Cowboys home final hopes were in jeopardy when they dropped out of the top 4.. Even though 5th and 6th get a home final.

I think Brisbane are coming good at the right time of the year. The Dogs have just been consistently average all year. They have no increase or decrease in performance and are in the top four as a result by default since all the other teams have been just so inconsistent in that 4-10 range. That said, I don't think the Dogs have that extra gear they will need come finals time and if they make the top four (which seems likely), wouldn't be surprised to see them out in straight sets or make the GF and be annihilated by whoever they come up against.

Imagine making it to 3 GF's in 5 years and losing every single one of them

It would be quite embarrassing.

Especially after all of the comments about how you need a big forward pack to win premierships....

Just ask the Roosters what that's like. They made the GF 4 times in 5 years. They only managed 1 win out of the 4

Extenuating circumstances.

Watched some of our last game against the dogs. I know it was just after origin but jeez gillett had a shocker. Lets hope his fatigue and busted shoulder hold up.
