Well if Reed is forced to retire or heads to England, that is pretty likely at least in the short term, I wouldn't be surprised down the track Kahu retires cause of injuries himself.
Pearson is unlucky but I wouldn't be disheartened, he made an impression in first grade on debut, Greg Eden is heading back to England and talk of Maranta heading to the Reds in Union puts him in a very good position for first grade in the coming seasons.
To give Kahu some match fitness before the finals the 5 is the best spot for him. And I can't see Pearson getting thrown into a finals campaign so I reckon that's how we'll line up for the rest of the season baring injuries. Never know about next season could be G.I, could be Izzy
I'd say Kahu would be hard to dislodge from the starting side simply because of his versatility, his ability to play fullback, centre or wing puts him ahead of most other players. I'm guessing it probably came down to Opacic and Pearson and they went with a more proven quantity.
Was looking forward to see how Pearson backed up from his debut. But smart to ease Kahu back. Would prefer Kahu in the centers during the finals. But then again he has been solid as under the high ball and would provide a safe option at wing.

Big litmus test for the boys this week, followed by an even bigger one next week. Time to see what we're made of. I'm nervous, but excited. A loss and our season is toast.
A close win, we're still chugging away.
A big win - we're back, baby, and everyone better look out...
