Round 24 Discussion

Tigers still have two more seasons of Chris Lawrence to put up with...

I really hope he finds top form again because it's just sad to see what he's become.

Speaking of sad to see what he's become - gee...Josh Morris cannot run at all. Which is nice for the Tigers, sad to see that play die due to a desperate pass from Moses.

Morris is always slipping over his own dribble. Wasn't his dad's nickname Slippery?

Why Potter put a second rower out on the wing/centre is a mystery. He's getting smashed out there.

After something of a drought, there appears to be a fair amount of quality centres running around...

Tim Lafai
Will Hopoate
Jamie Lyon
Steve Matai
Dale Copley
Dane Gagai
Dylan Walker
Konrad Hurrell
Michael Jennings
Jack Wighton
Josh Dugan
Dean Whare
Jamal Idris
Will Chambers

Even the likes of James Roberts, Tim Simona, Ricky Leutele, Sione Mata'utia etc. have potential.

You'd have to think he'd be upset about releasing Marika Koroibete now.

Pat Richards should be back next week which will be a relief but they may need to bring in a Delouise Hoeter or John Sila since these other blokes look completely lost.

Nice try to Brooks against the run of play there. Looks like he may have twinged his hammy trying to hit the after-burners.

Bulldogs 30
West Tigers 10

To sum up how engaging that game was, channel 9 aired a replay of the referees having a blow-out.

Dogs basically had the game won early and just coasted. Full-time couldn't come around soon enough and really a season that had it's share of surprises for the Tigers has ended where most would have expected.

Bulldogs meanwhile have basically booked their spots in the finals but they'll struggle to be anything more than fodder.

It's a shame that Farah stuffed up the Wests Tigers season with him wanting his friends to be the coach & trying to undermine Potter.

Damn, Tigers really went to shit didn't they?

They looked great at the start of the season. They looked like a finals team. Now, they are just like the 2013 Eels...

Missing Pat Richards, Tim Simona, Tim Moltzen, James Tedesco, Dene Halatau, Keith Leilua, David Nofoaluma, Braith Anasta & Liam Fulton would play it's part in all of that.

Well....maybe not Bwaith.

What a shit going-through-the-motions game, just scrap games against teams who can hardly compete.

Well....maybe not Bwaith.

Could throw Moltzen, Halatai & Leilua in there too but in terms of depth they're actually being missed.

They're playing Paterson on the wing FFS!

Was Moses Mybe a freakish talent in the junior leagues or something? he just seems to be talked up a lot but I haven't really seen him do anything special or out of the ordinary.

Eels v Sea Eagles

Eels: Expected to be 1-17, with both David Gower and Peni Terepo passing fitness tests.

Sea Eagles: Steve Matai is on track to return from a shoulder injury.

Broncos v Knights

Broncos: Justin Hodges is set to start the match at fullback, with Lachlan Maranta – named at fullback on Tuesday – to switch to the wing and Dale Copley moving to centre.

Knights: Update: Jarrod Mullen didn't complete training on Friday due to a cork, with Michael Dobson travelling to Brisbane as cover. Wayne Bennett has confirmed former Sharks Jeremy Smith and Kade Snowden have accepted bans from ASADA and won't play again this season.

Rabbitohs v Cowboys

Rabbitohs: Kyle Turner is fit to make his return as named.

Cowboys: Matthew Wright will make a decision on whether to accept an ASADA ban on Friday. James Tamou is hopeful of being a late inclusion if he overcomes his neck injury.

Warriors v Roosters

Warriors: Konrad Hurrell is a confirmed starter after recovering from his hamstring injury.

Roosters: Sonny Bill Williams has trained this week after recovering from a broken thumb and is set to be a late inclusion. Jake Friend is also pushing to return from his hamstring injury, with fellow hooker Heath L'Estrange also out injured.

Sharks v Raiders

Sharks: Paul Gallen and Anthony Tupou, who reportedly have received 'show cause' notices from ASADA, are amongst the players facing a decision on the authority's offer of a ban. They will miss the match if they accept the deal, but will play if they decide to fight the charges.

Raiders: Expected to be 1-17. Terry Campese could be fit this week but has been named to play in the NSW Cup in any case.

Dragons v Titans

Dragons: Ben Creagh (hamstring) and Dan Hunt (back) are both pushing to be late inclusions.

Titans: Paul Carter is in doubt with a shoulder injury, while David Mead and Maurice Blair could both force their way back into the side if they recover from injuries. Luke Douglas and Albert Kelly reportedly are the Titans' players facing potential ASADA bans, although Kelly is not in the Titans' side this week.

Panthers v Storm

Panthers: James Segeyaro is set to play despite picking up an ankle injury last week, but will need to prove his fitness on Sunday.

Storm: Expected to be 1-17.

So, it's starting to look like tipping the Raiders wasn't so crazy after all.
