Last away game of the regular season.

First game against Penrith all season.

Three more games to go...

How will our heroes from Red Hill go on Friday night?

A must-win game (as they all are I guess). We have to watch out for Mansour and Simmons. Both got doubles today and our wingers aren't exactly elite players capable of shutting them down easily. Wonder if we'll have the same 17 also

This is the real test of our mettle going into the finals. We can handle the Dogs at home if Barba is still out. Shut down Mansour and Segeyaro and we should get up.

Segeyaro will be extremely dangerous once our ruck defence starts to slow down. But if we can contain him, we'll be a big chance of continuing the run!

Our forwards will really need to stand up for this one.

The Panthers pack easily matched the Warriors yesterday, and got them good go-forward for Simmons and Mansour to benefit from.

The Panthers seemed to get a lot of their ball from errors and penalties. If we can keep both those areas in check we should be right.

Looking for Hunt to bounce back this week. We will need him this week for sure. Hopefully Prince and Macca can maintain their excellent form too and the forwards can lay a good platform. Thaiday needs to have a good look at himself this week.

Win against the mountain men and wait for the Titans and Raiders to lose and we will be in the top 8. Despite Penrith winning I'm still feeling pretty confident.

Is McGuire injured? Remember him coming off looking injured.

Penrith actually scare me a bit. They have been one of the most surprising teams in the NRL and they could give us a real fright if they turn up. Segeyaro is a danger man but he isn't the only one. Moylan/Coote are very good at fullback, Walsh has been playing better since he was told to piss off, Grant is a beast of a forward and I think Whare will be the best centre on the field on Friday.

People should also look out for Ryan Simpkins. Penrith have an endless supply of cracking defenders in their team. They had Plum and Docker and with them out they just bring in Simpkins to chop everybody in half.

Looking at the season stats for both teams (just for fun) we are almost even on all counts except 2.

We have missed 30 odd tackles (2 per match roughly) more than them but, we have made 110 more tackle breaks. The fact the points differential is roughly the same, that tells me a lot about our failure to support the ball runner and capitalize.

It's now time to convert those tackle breaks into points. Unless our defensive structures fragment as they have a habit of doing when we slack off as we do for large chunks of the game, I can't see why we can't win this.

tough game but doable, panthers are just all over the shop this year. segeyaro will need to be watched, he'll be running at thaiday and hannant all game.

I think we are out of the doldrums of playing as shit as our opposition wants to play and playing to our true potential.

We should monster their pack. With Hoffy coming on form and Reed/Oates somehow eeking out an attacking threat down that left hand side, I think we might be a chance. Hunt really needs to turn it on though.

If we can also get Kahu and Stagg to contribute something on the right (Gillett has been on fire of late) then we've all of a sudden got a three pronged attack.

Get Princey running at the line and threatening early. Should give the defenders something to think about other than "wrap up Gillett"

heads should be in the right frameset. play well. win. simple. warriors were terrible yesterday.

We should monster their pack.

Not sure about that, they have some big boppers in Grant, Mose, Manu and McKendry.

I think this win is just about making sure we have more opportunities to score than they do, with enough ball points will come for both teams. If we get back on top of our discipline and completion rates we should eek out another ugly win.

I actually think Penrith will be less dangerous this Friday. Against the Warriors they were pretty much out of the running for the top 8, they played with freedom and the Warriors gifted them possession. With results falling their way (like us) they are now a mathematical chance for the 8 (like us). However we've had this attitude for 4 weeks, they'll play with something to lose this week. If we turn up with the right attitude we should win.
