POST GAME [Round 25, 2021] Broncos vs Knights

Did you forget about Tyson and Albert?
Kelly is far too mistake prone and just isn't very good. Gamble just doesn't have the skills to be an effective starting half. He has a big heart and gives everything he has but he is a total passenger against the elite clubs. Billy is the frontrunner atm as the roster stands.

Milford: 236 mtrs, 3 LB, 3 TA, 1 T, 1 FG. Now that is a day out and are similar to the stats he has produced in the previous 2 matches. He still has the skillset required just not as the marquee man.

He's a big loss and he would have stayed at the Broncos on a budget deal as Reynolds was keen to partner him. Now we're stuck with no decent #6 at the club with Billy Walters probably being the frontrunner for the role.
Don't be lured in. When he is shackled with responsibility next year, expect to see the old Milf return. Easy to play well when nothing matters.

Credit where credit is due though, MIlf had a good game. Good way to finish your Broncs career.

Also not at all convinced on Nui, he seems like a fatter, less attacking version of Milf (@broncsgoat are you interested in starting a new bandwagon?). I'd love to see Cobbo there but Staggs and Cobbo in the centres means you're sorted for the better part of the decade.

You might be right and I might be getting overexcited about seeing the "old" Milf displaying skills that I thought had long diminished. Big advantage for him next year are the quality of players around him. He's going from the shithouse to the penthouse in that regard and it could herald in a mini revival for his career.

I'm kinda stuck between hoping he goes well because I don't really hold any ill-will towards him and also being pissed at the idea he stunk it up here for ages to go elsewhere and kill it.

Completely disagree
Could you imagine a Reynolds/Gamble duo. It would be the slowest halves combo in the history of the game. Kevie isn't bringing his kid up there to ride the pine. He'll have him penciled in for the #6 and he may thrive alongside Reynolds. Time will tell.

Herbie got Broncos MOTM over Milford.

Did they watch the fucking game?

Having Walker and Cook there is going to help him massively. He's not going to have the same responsibility heaped him on like it was here. JD is just going to give him the freedom to play the way he wants to play, let him play with freedom and that's where he shines.

Most importantly, he's going to be in a side that's not changing each week and has plenty of stability.

Souths have got themselves a bargain.

Glenn in his final game for the club played 80 minutes for a combined effort of 2 hit ups for 11 metres
David mead made more metres in the middle than him 😂
Emotions would of been running high for Glenn and honestly don't blame him for sitting back and taking it all in.
You could tell his team mates were playing for him and guarantee they would of got around him before the game and said just enjoy it were going to carry you through this take it all in.

Badel the only one asking questions of Kevvie.

Described Payne's injury as a "high ankle sprain." He and Jake will be back for the preseason.

Kind words for rookies Robati, Tesi and Cobbo.

Wasn't surprised by Milf having a good game. Says Souths have got a "good one."

Wants to extend his coaching contract, and bring joy and reward to Broncos fans. Says there's more to come.

Tough year for everyone, even the media. Says everyone got caught out a few times, but the mood is really different in the dressing room and they've make good progress.

See you next year. Tears from Badel.

I'm really happy with how we finished the season. We've definitely turned a corner and it's great to see them playing together as a unit.

With Reynolds and Capewell coming in, good times ahead.

I think the jury is still out on Niu at FB, but I think something like this next year will be very competitive.

1. Niu ??
2. Farnworth
3. Staggs
4. Cobbo
5. Oates
6. Gamble
7. Reynolds (c)
8. Carrigan
9. Turpin
10. Haas
11. Capewell
12.. Riki
13. Hetherington

14. Paix
15. Flegler

16 and 17 can be rotated through the young guys.

Not that much of a surprise. We've all had a gutful of Milford, and he's leaving the club. Herbie is a fan favourite. He was the other standout. Despite not being great at centre, he can still be a great player. In my opinion he had a great wingers' game. He doesn't **** up much except when he tries to pass the ball. Wing's where he should be next year. He'll be better than Coates. That's my tip.
