Might be unpopular opinion, but Mam has been overrated as far his half play goes. He does **** all on the fifth tackle and Reyno is under so much pressure to do everything. Tyson is a better option in that regard

Mam is being used almost exclusively for his running game that's why, It's a fine strategy but it kind of falls apart when our middle is doing **** all and there is nothing to work on.

it's pretty much the same combo as what we where doing in 2015 when Kevvie was halves coach, but our middle was a little less soft as shit.

Mam has done a very admirable job to start his NRL career - he has no doubt been instructed to focus on defence first and foremost as the foundation of his game, then incorporate his natural running game as he gets comfortable, then down the line he can incorporate more passing, kicking, playmaking etc.

People forget Cleary started the exact same way, especially at Origin level. A young half getting comfortable with the pace and flow of the game and picking moments to be involved and prioritising solid defence and engaging the defensive line through running the ball is the perfect place to start.

It's his first season, plus he's probably too young and too inexperienced to really be playing NRL yet at all - but he's handling it extremely well and looked very promising. We will continue to see his game develop and expand - nothing to be concerned about at all.

The problem is we have no plan B if we get smashed through the middle and Reynolds is left to try and salvage the set, every set.

I’m not discounting his ability to do it, but we’ve all seen he’s been very up and down at times because he’s having to try and do everything and it’s just not working well for him or the team.

If your middle is rolling, a running five-eighth can be a nightmare, but when it’s not, you need a second genuine half otherwise that runner is ineffective. We weren’t going to dominate the top 4 packs (other selections aside) and Kev should’ve realised that and picked a more rounded half rather than a flashy rookie that doesn’t kick

Are you forgetting the 5th tackle kicks Gamble put straight into the arms of the opposition on the full ? He has done it more than once .

Reyno wouldn't have a problem with it, if you've paid attention to him during his career you would know he encourages it.

Gamble's kicking isn't great, but it's not about that. It's about taking pressure off Reyno to come up with all of the 5th tackle options. With Reyno doing that, the defence can just rush him before he even gets the ball.

I wonder if that is the real difference between us as clubs? We are picking kind-hearted, entitled flogs and they pick players who understand they need to be told what is acceptable what isn’t and if they are not prepared to handle it, there’s the door. We’ll find someone who is?

Ezra can obviously kick . He kicked with his wrong foot to set up a Corey Oates try in one of the 1st cpl of matches he played .

Then he kicked out on the full a cpl of times and decided to put his boot back in it`s holster .

If ,,, we are to believe what Tyson Gamble said and Reynolds is the attack coach , then why isn`t he practicing at training with Ezra to take more 5th tackle kicks ?
And in the game , run the set so Ezra is in position to be an option ?
