POST GAME [Round 25, 2022] Broncos vs Dragons

I quit the Kevvie bashing a while ago after things started to look like they were turning around and from criticism from the likes of Foordy. But F that now.

This is a guy who has only got this job based on him being a former player, his coaching before he got here ranged from dreadful to deluded wishful thinking with Bradley fucking Stubbs and his chaleton for hire service.

Cam Smith quit after one tour under him as coach at the Maroons level and went to play for 3 more years - even refusing to go and mentor the hookers or contribute to KW's sessions in any way. Once Kevvie was gone from that roll, who re-appeared?

Kev might be good to get the culture back in the team, there's a place for him at the club - it's just not in the coaches box.

We need a ruthless, competitive, tactical coach who will rip shreds off players when it's needed. They made a big deal of Kev blowing up after the eels loss. Why? It's a rare event.

We need someone who is going to expect, nay, demand perfection. We need better, starting at the top.
I think you’ll find Smith disappeared for another reason, probably Barb

Missed the second half, Went to river fire instead. Was the game a shit show?

I thought they were really unlucky with the sin-bins and even if I wasn't a fan, I'd be pissed. Both tackles had mitigating factors and while I can live with a penalty to sin-bin two players just ruins the contest. Nobody is going to cry over it because it's the Broncos and the season has been in tatters for weeks but people pay good money to watch this sport and games absolutely ruined with these awful interpretations.

I thought Carrigan and Gamble tried their best to lead the team but they just couldn't lift the team. It seemed like the forwards were playing too tight and weren't working towards any areas of the field to really test the Dragons defence. Meanwhile Gamble actually set up some nice plays but was let down by Capewell twice, with the third being a dusty pass for Kurt.

It's the inconsistency that kills me. You get Flegler in the bin basically for incidental contract, and then nothing for Hunt bringing Hosking down with a high swinging arm near the tryline.

Gamble was okay, but he's still just effort and not much more. The penalty for not square at marker he gave away when we could have pinned them on their line is just emblematic of that - he never even tries to get square. He's got passion but it's passion that cuts corners, and that's not going to get you far.

Watching the Cows, they are enjoying their footy. We have looked miserable from Rd. 20. Again I wonder what happened..
Sooking that some of their mates won’t be there next year.

These “professionals”…

Wasn't Cam still playing when Kev was coach of Maroons? Don't understand that argument.
Broncos have fallen away since Paynes bombshell and Origin hangover. Selections haven't been great but at times forced. Assistants have to go but Kev deserves next year.
Get rid of Payne.
Find some no nonsense forwards to help Carrigan.
Get a hooker preferably Ben Hunt.
New assistants.
Defensive coach needs a new career.
He was and that's the point - he played one "season" under Kev for origin then refused to go back.

Other players who were still playing but ended their origin run for a final year of NRL still were turning up to camp to help players during the season, this has been an origin tradition.

Cam Smith want's nothing to do with Kev's coaching style, which is built on wishful thinking.

It's been that way for something like 5 years. There are way, way too many egos in this squad who are content to just play for the Broncos on big money and think as a result their farts don't stink, premierships be damned.
One of them is the guy saying he wants more money and to play finals football......

Here's hoping that Haas is gone in the off season. It's pretty obvious he doesn't want to be there and is just going through the motions.
he's got 2 busted shoulders, not saying I'd be to disappointed to see him go though. we could do with some spending money

Yeah I've been on and off the fence about this being a mitigating factor. But no, **** him. If he's not right to play, and play properly, then he needed to go under the knife. If he was right to play, and you'd have to back the medical staff on this, then his effort can rightfully be questioned.

He's been pretty garbage ever since his contract stunt. Want him gone and his money put to better use please.

And yet jack bird did exactly the same thing , not square at marker, on us earlier and it was ignored.
NAS can karate chop blokes heads withba fore arm and not even get penalised, Flegs gets wrong footed into a head bump and gets 10.
How many times did the Dragons come up holding the ball when we were trying to play it quick, nothing from the ref.
As much as we stink we just fucking cop it every week.

So so poor from KW in my opinion. A better managed game would have resulted in a solid win. This time, I lay the greatest blame at KW's feet.
At least Potato was awesome :rofl :rofl

Yeah, did we even get a six again? Dragons were laying all over us all night.

We weren't good, and it wasn't the reason we lost, but it sure didn't help.

They need to do whatever it takes to sign a competent hooker for next season otherwise there's no point getting invested as a fan. If Des is flicked by Manly I'd be looking into him closely, he can turn sides around.
That was not a poor performance by any stretch from walters. He one of the best on ground tonight.

Sad to see the this season of promise end this way. We went out with a whimper and only a few of the boys even tried. Lots of work to do in the off season and hopefully whatever the issue is can be fixed. Something beyond the field derailed this season, I don't know what it is but the total collapse can't be explained otherwise.

We looked to be an improved side but this last month of footy has looked very worrying and the back office better be ready to move if it's required because this was not good enough to finish the year. I am not even as pissed about finals as I am about the total lack of effort to finish a season.

We are out of finals, we lost our last game of the season, Cowboys are winning, I haven’t had a drink for 2months I’m thinking about starting again after tonight.
