Te'o into the centres for Hodges.

Hannant onto the bench.

Source: Ins and Outs Round 25.

Ok we have 3rd position locked in.

Glenn MUST replace Hodges for however long. We do not want to have Copley or Gagai there, it's way too much inexperience for this time of the year. Too risky. Ben Teo is an option, but I think Glenn's technique in defence and his ability to draw and pass makes him a slightly stronger candiate than Teo for the centres. Don't get me wrong, Teo was a machine last year in the centres but I just think Glenn into Hodges position is an easier transition.

We don't lose anything at all in the backrow either, our stocks are solid.

I would also consider resting Hannant for this game too. I know he was touch and go this week, so next week he should be right, but gee it must be tempting to rest him for another week considering we have 3rd position locked up. I know I would.

Hannant's on the bench according to Big Pete. Probably a good move. Though I imagine if he thinks he's 100% he'll start.
Te'o in for Hodges...not so sure, but it's fine.

TBH I think the centres a nice stepping stone for Teo to get some confidence at contact back.

Yeah I have no confidence in Teo's defence atm, but he's certainly improving each game. He'll go better than Copley or Beale against GI.

in Ins and Outs Griffin said that Hodges hadn't beeen ruled out for the Souths game yet, so if he comes good during the week they may play him. Would be foolish if they did i'd keep him in cotton wool till the finals

I have no problem with Te'o at centre. He's more evasive, has more speed than Glenn and proved last year he can play very well in that position, and he can put a real hit on anyone, including Taylor. Even if Hodgo is okay to play, I'd rest him for Manly and the finals...

Besides, I'd like to see Glenn and Reed running at Sandow all day, not only because he's a speed bump, but also because he will have more of his usual brain farts when tired.

I really like the team and I must say that despite the criticism, the closer we get to the finals, the better the Macca and Hunt hooker combo is working. Yesterday, they were both very good! That's probably the reason Hook is the Broncos head coach and I'm a couch potato! :haha:

Griffin spoke on 4BC today and said Hodges would not be playing this weekend. He said best case scenario was 1 week but things could change after the scan results.

Even if he was fit he shouldn't play. I really hope it's only one week and we have him for the finals. We need Hodges to be playing against the the big teams in the finals.

I would also be tempted to give Hannant a rest.

Getting 2nd spot or Manly/Melbourne copping in an upset in week one would be a perfect scenario for us.

I reckon he's back week 2 of the finals, we can't really get kicked out week 1 anyway.

Last time we finished 3rd in the regular season was 06... :)

Yes, and that broke a trend where we finished 3rd and got bundled out (2002, 2004, 2005) :P

As much as I despise Storm, I'm cheering for them this Friday night. In fact, best result would be for Melbourne to beat Manly, and Cam Smith, Billy Slater, Daly Cherry-Evans, Jamie Lyon and Matt Ballin all suffer season ending injuries :)) Hehehe.

I'd probably prefer Brookvale to go BOOM mid way through the first half.

Nah, they would treat that as a tragedy and may call off the rest of the competition.

I think 6 ACLs being done would be OK.

2005 is the past Coxy :P

LMAO Beads, that would be so good.

I would be satisfied if Smith and Balin got season ending injuries.

That is a fairly terrible thing to wish upon someone.

However, in this situation it is probably for the best.

Let me clarify by saying I hope it's LARS-operable ACL injuries...thus they can be back and enjoy a full offseason and not miss any footy next season.

I like the look of Te'o in the centres but I would have been equally happy with Glenn there too.

If Hodges is only meant to miss one week It could be intriguing if results go a certain way the game against Manly ends up being for 2nd spot. I doubt Griffen would risk Hodges for that game given we can't finish any lower than 3rd but the pay off for finishing 2nd might tempt him. Mind you if Manly win this weekend it won't really matter but still an intriguing scenarios if it ends up playing out.

Although we managed to restrict the Knights to one try they were off their game and didn't produce their best. Souths have momentum and on a dry track playing for their season they will be very dangerous. Would not be surprised at all if they managed to put some points on us. Having said that we will match their points with more of our points!!!

Any word on whether Dave Taylor will be playing in this ?

Wasn't he cited for a headbutt last weekend ??

He wasn't charged.
