Playing with the ladder predictor, say we do finish first and beat Melbourne Week 1 (Broncos beating Melbourne in back2back weeks, fucking unprecedented. Bellyache is likely to go on a murder spree in Federation Square), we get the week off then get the Warriors or Cows in the Prelim for a ticket to the GF against one of either..... Penrith or Melbourne.

I'm telling you, finishing 1st is an out and out poisoned chalice for us, and only in this backwards ass competition could that ever be said. We could potentially be playing our 2 biggest bogey sides 3 times in the one finals series. Melbourne Week 1, Cowgirls in the Prelim then Melbourne again in the GF.....

If we finish 1, it's because we just beat the Storm. At which point, they'll become our bunnies.

If we win our next two and Cronulla win their next two we would probably play Cronulla week one, that's what I am hoping for.

I dunno, for some reason I feel uncomfortable possibly playing Melbourne two weeks in a row. The main reason being the fact that they have tormented us for as long as I can remember.

On the other hand, that is not the mentality we should have. We should absolutely be gunning for this minor premiership and welcome the challenge. Our main focus for Saturday has to be our defence. Keep them below two tries and we win comfortably.

I have a really good feeling about September. I think everything is coming together perfectly. Our performances over the last 6 weeks show exactly that.

Try the last 16 years. The first year they knocked us out of the finals was 2007, it's been the same every freaking year since then.

also beat us in 05, tho tigers knocked us out the following week.

i remember because inglis came off the bench and basically scored with his first touch...

We are good enough this year that we should have the confidence to go into games not caring who it is we face but just make sure we play to our best.

We almost beat them last time in Melbourne when Reyno had to come off early and we had to use Staggs as a Half ffs the ref was totally against us and they just spammed the high kicks hoping for hail marys, we are in better form now too, i'm confident we could put a decent gap on them right now, they didn't play well last week just like Penrith have looked shaky in the last few weeks leading to this loss, we are as I see it the best in the comp on form atm.

Yeah but that's just what happens when we play Melbourne. They get some sort of lucky break/bounce/injury against us. hughes is probably going to put a bomb up that hits a flood light and ricochets off the refs head into the arms of munster. some stupid shit like that.

We’ll always have a 100% win record against them in grand finals tho. 😎

It also makes sense why not only have the Storm been propped up by the NRL due to their location, but against Brisbane due to their fanbase. They have been sold as a defacto Queensland team because no one in Melbourne gives a shit, and if anyone's seen how much support they get up here by bandwagoners, their tactic has worked. So them consistently having the wood over the Broncos is extremely helpful to that cause.

Is Carrigan getting a rest or injured? Noticed he has dropped out of the side with Palasia named at lock.
