btw: any inside word on the likely crowd for Friday? In Monday's The Courier Mail they were anticipating 50,000+ but given our form and the fact we're only playing Penrith I can't see it happening - even if it is Pet's farewell. If we manage to crack 40k I'll be seriously impressed.

I asked the Broncos on twitter. Looking like a crowd of 40K. Not good enough! Come on people! It's Petero!

they have been trying to talk the crowd up.

i just got tickets an hour ago (white) and am in the very back lower corner. when looking around the same respective time for the sotrm game the allocated seats were already well up into the mid/top areas

i doubt it will be many more than 40k.

What do you expect? Didn't Petero leave the Broncos for an extra 10,000

Yep there was confidence aplenty from rounds 1-10. Griffen is right when he says it will only take a win for it all to come flooding back. Now if we can just nab that win...

We will as long as everyone keeps talking to each other to keep the momentum going no matter what

I can see the Panthers playing as though they haven't a care in the world but if it gets hard and the Broncs are determined then winning seems most likely. Every Panther knows that Saturday morning means it's finally at an end. A tough season behind them.It is human nature to look forward to a rest and some of them (most I'd say) have already got Saturday on their minds.

Screwing Brisbane over is not enough motivation to produce a historic performance, winning a premiership wasn't enough for them to fire up.They have been very ordinary way more often than they have been great. Hopefully a great crowd will be there, Petero certainly deserves one.

Are you ****in' serious? Even putting aside the fact from everything we understand about his reasons for leaving in 2007, $10K wasn't one of them...the fact is he's played 300+ games, 10 seasons of which was at the Broncos. Was involved in 2 of our 6 Grand Finals (missed 1 through injury) and was a great servant to our club and the game.

If you're seriously suggesting people aren't attending because of a perception he dogged us in 2007, that's a ****ing joke.

There's 2 reasons people may be staying away: 1. It's Friday night, and it is harder to entice people out on a Friday night when they can watch live on TV at home or the pub, and 2. The Broncos have lost 6 in a row and are playing shit (biggest reason).

Hook, line and sinker.

i agree. panthers have won 3 of their last 4 games and i daresay they will have now clocked off mentally and are already be thinking about their post season holiday, especially as there's plenty of young blokes in their team.

their last month has been pretty good and winning or losing this week wont really change that, and certainly won't be remembered. its a nothing game for everyone bar petero and the broncos (and the tigers if they still have any self belief left.. doubt it).

On a serious note, I think that the Petero incident was a blight on the club and an indictment on Bruno's stewardship.

As a supporter, it broke my heart to see Petero go and his return has been bittersweet; we get the ending we always wanted but saddened by what could have been if he'd been here for the past 3 years.

Maybe it would have been Petero instead of Ashton Sims taking THAT hitup

This is the danger and why I am glad we've got options if we lose.

Panthers have nothing to lose, are a quality team (like any NRL side, on their day can beat any other). If they throw it around and get in front, it could be a repeat of the Parra game where we are chasing points.

You made me sad.

Everytime I see him take a hit up for the cows I abuse him about it lol

If it was Petero taking that hit up we would have another premiership
