Care to explain how I have insulted Old Mate. If I read things correctly it is me that has been called a wanker and been told to p*** off

I'm not discussing it in this thread. If either of you have grievances PM myself or another admin, or use the Staff Chat forum. :handshake:

Your calling copley a meh winger??? We have suffered big time with him being out, really miss his runs coming off our line early in the tackle count. This line up is not a fcken joke (as you put it), you are

Mate it's your aggressive tone, whenever you don't like someones opinion you play the man.

Sorry ning, I couldn't help myself

I suppose you could take repeated beltings to the head though right? I mean I don't know why I would doubt that, you have proven that you aren't afraid to call someone a wanker or tell them to p*** off on anonymously over an internet forum, so you obviously are bad ass

Probably not, but that's why I'm not getting hundreds of thousands a year to play football like Hoffman, idiot. The kent admits the head knocks rattled him (good excuse for your shit form which you had way before the knocks Hoffy!) yet still doesn't try to protect himself with headgear.

Old Mate and broncos4life - you fellas need to be a little more respectful to each other. You're more than welcome to disagree, but don't go insulting each other, it adds nothing to the discussion and makes you both look foolish. :handshake:

Just saw this, will do.

I don't get all the calls to put Beale @ FB. The only evidence of Beale's FB play is when Locky was in the side, and really how hard is it to look good at the back when you are getting quality ball from the best player to have played the game?

Nah I can't recall the game but I think it was one of the ones where Hoff got benched and Beale filled in, he threw a couple of nifty passes and put a play on where we nearly scored from. He actually added a bit to the team.

bahahaha what try savers??? name a try norman saved. I'm not really sure why you are insinuating that hoffman is bad defensively at FB? he has made many crucial one on one tackles that have saved our arse. For example, if he doesnt make that tackle on Manu in the warriors game, we are now no chance of a finals appearance

Norman held TRex up, there's one for you.

Simply put Hoffman is ranked last for completing one on one tackles out of all the fullbacks, that means he is pretty shitty. Naming that try saver on Manu is irrelevant, might as well say if we took Glenn out of the team we don't win a game this season, just as irrelevant.

Old mate, I really wish you would stop hating on Hoffman, Old mate.

I like this side. Yes, it is the one we had when we were winning, until roughly Origin time.

But there is a big difference. Norman, Hoffman and Hunt (to an extent) have played in different positions, and hopefully learned from that.

Aside from which I reckon Norman is no longer a FB. I'd have (the "old") Hoffa running the ball back anytime. And I also think he was a very good defensive FB.

Hope he's over his wounds. I mean he's copped more than most, and at his head especially.

All he has to do now is time his 2nd man play running.

Norman I am sure is being given the last throw of the dice, and if he has learned about reading the game as to passing and running, he could be exactly what we need. If not, he's not going to do anything better than he did at the back.

Wallace, well ... who knows? All of a sudden, he could play a series of blinders, or not.

In any case, the team with Norman at the back and Hunt in the halves didin't work. The original side did, before the wheels fell off.

I think this is the best side we can put on the park ATM.

I disagree with you there. The team with Hunt in the halves DID work, its just that we played the top three sides of the season in those few games where Hunt was in the halves. Plus we got rattled when things didn't go our way, and consequently reverted back to how we were playing when Norman was at 5/8th and Hoffman at FB. Had we versed teams lower down the order when Hunt was in the halves, I'm sure we would have picked up a few more wins. I'd go so far as to say those couple of games (well except the Manly game) were some of our best for the season, the way Hunt constructed those short balls to Te'o was much better than anything in the second half of the season at least. Add in the shocking reffing mistakes, and we could have/should have won against and Dogs and Storm with Hunt in the halves.

I dont have an aggressive tone. I'm just giving my opinion. I find it interesting that you decide to point out my 'aggressive tone' but obviously believe the person telling people to p*** off is not deserving of your condescending comment.

But anyway back to the thread apparently

See I think that looked a lot more like confidence in the forwards that anything else. I don't mind Hunt in the halves at all, I probably prefer him over Norman, it's kind of hard to say in the teams position. He ran the plays nicely, sure, but it was really Petro and Hannant moving up the field with intensity and Te'o running some excellent lines. The whole forward pack looked alive and the team reflected it. That would be the key for me.

Having re-watched a number of our early games this season, there was depth, good angles run by T'eo, Glenn and Gillett (especially that corker of a try v Knights that Macca set up), and yes, the forwards controlled momentum dominated the middle. Also, the kicking was good as were the kick-chases.

I don't think any of the games with Norman at the back and Hunt at 5/8 were better.

For mine, we were controlling the game plan well during the first half of the season, then, when that stopped, we fell away.

That control of the game plan (depth, set plays, just getting into formations and keeping shape, support play ...) and our forward momentum has to return no matter who plays where, or we will lose. Simple as that.

Now who's job is that ... to keep the team together when things get tough, so that the tough can keep going? In my view that's all this team really needs - a real leader, or leaders, who call the plays, AND the players respond immediately by knowing where and when to be.

We have done it to the best, we can do it. Will a real leader or leaders please stand up.

i'm 100% certain that once we get a win under our belt the confidence will come back and things will just start to 'click' agian.

for this reason i think as long as we can get past the panthers we will be well suited to give the first couple weeks of finals a solid crack.

I agree with this.

To me, it's all confidence.

We have the talent.

Yep there was confidence aplenty from rounds 1-10. Griffen is right when he says it will only take a win for it all to come flooding back. Now if we can just nab that win...
