Round 26 - Broncos vs Panthers - Build Up Thread

This might sound stupid.. but if we can beat the Panthers in a half decent performance, we can beat the Cowboys.

Surely they couldn't beat us 3 times in one season.

Sorry, but i think this is the way we need to go this week ..... the way we're going at the moment i think the older combos might go a bit better now.

I have to agree 100% there experiments were good and something to now work on in the off season, but we are now at the stage that we need to go with the safest approach in my opinion. Hoffman's deficiencies in attack have been well noted, however we could use the way he brings the ball back at the very least to get off our line, Norman does not have that

I'll be pretty disappointed if Hook puts Hunt on the bench. We need his creativity and short kicking game on the field for 80 mins. Hook needs to grow a sack and punt Hoffman from the team altogether.

Yeah the Hoff has to go, he simply isn't needed. We've got a fb/winger in Beale in the side already.

For Hoffman to be in the side I think he needs to be at fullback. In defense at least. He has been a bit of a liability on the wing. He is also a better kick returner than Norman. It feels like teams have had more success at pinning us down our own end with Norman at FB.
If he is going to be played 100% on the wing, he shouldn't be in the team.

So in attack:
1. Norman
5. Hoffman

In defense:
1. Hoffman
4. Norman
5. Reed
Because I don't think Norman would be any good at wing play either.

Honestly moving Norman to the centres at this stage would be a disaster. Maybe if he trained the off season there it could work but I am doubtful.

Sam Williams might be out for the Raiders. We could be playing for seventh and a Sharks game!

I think the Raiders will get sorted on the weekend. NZ is the last side I would like to be playing next week coming off 4 - 5 embarrassing efforts and total capitulation last week. Playing for some pride in front of their home crowd, trying to impress next years coach and being the last round. If they get going and play jungle ball the Raiders will get beat by 30.

You'd think that the same mentality would apply to the Broncos; but if you were a Warriors fan, with not even a finals place on the line, I'd be very doubtful.

I hate this as a fan turning up every week with hope and getting crushed. We have had some tough games but **** we should have put a number through Parramatta and the Raiders.

Also, this is where we so desparately need an experienced coach.

They need something inspirational/a talisman to fire them up and not some tired tautologies about pride or Petero.
