Round 26 - Broncos vs Panthers - Post Match Discussion

Without doubt need to watch a replay but being at the game on a fantastic day for the club but proud of the boys to arrest the slump & come up with the big plays when they mattered.

Wallace stuck it to the haters (guilty) and delivered a performance we've been asking for. Awesome, Hannant was the man & the likes of Show, Te'o, Glenn, Copley delivered. Civo is a legend and anybody who disagrees should dead-set join a souless bullshit Bulldogs bandwagon.

We got the win and thats all that matters. By the way, a big **** you to Wests Tigers and it feels good ending your season. And another **** you to Titans supporters who thought they would finish higher than us.

I think Corey Norman needs to watch the Seinfeld episode "The Opposite". Every instinct and decision he makes is wrong, so he should do the opposite of what he's actually thinking.

As always, too flat in attack and Norman, he either has absolutely no vision - he doesn't even look at the space he has to play with, his ego gets in the way, or he's going to start passing more like his last one to Glenn.

Wallace - about bloody time.

Still so many critical missed tackles.

Surely Griffin must know about the need for more depth in attack?

Beat 15th place by a try and field goal, I think we only played about 10 mins of intense footy at the start of the second half.

Blew so many overlaps in attack and conceded some soft line breaks up the guts, at least we won I guess but we're not ready for finals footy.

Spoke to a bloke on the bus who knew Ben Hunt's family and said he wont be there after next year.

Surely Griffin must know about the need for more depth in attack?

Its clearly Griffin's style of attack and I don't see it changing.

I think I counted 5 "pass the ball!" when Norman had it, even my neighbours were getting over it.

i was losing my voice screaming this in the crowd.

i had a fair few drinks so that may of clouded my judgment, but damn that was near on one of the most frustrating performances ive witnessed.

how can the coach/captain/halves/fullback/centres/ANYONE not see that they need to pull the attack back, get some depth, and run onto the thing... get some players in motion.. HOW CAN THEY NOT SEE THIS?!?

all i'm hoping is the win gave us the confidence we need for next week. wow i almost cant believe we are going to play finals footy?!

i just sat and watched the first 30 mins of the broncs v bulldogs game.................................. and feel a little bit inspired again.

Have to watch the replay before giving my POTS, but I think Wallace, Hodgo, Hannant, Te'o and Copley will be there about.

One guy that won't be there is Norman. If I had a sniper rifle, I would've taken him out from my perfect vantage point in the front row of level 6. :ranting:
The amount of times he ruined a play when there was an easy solution is incredible!
I will paraphrase Coxy's Facebook post and say: Congratulations for the win Broncos, it couldn't have been easy with the worst five-eight of the NRL in there.

I have an enormous amount of respect for Griffin, but seriously... WHY did you put Norman back in the 6?

I think this team can be so much better with:
1- Norman (sorry Hoffy, but you have no attacking instinct whatsoever, and no kicking game either)
6- Wallace (organiser with a cool head that would benefit from the extra time and space)
7- Hunt (the best option for the 7, has some x-factor and creativity and definitely benefited from his stint as a hooker to defend better)
9- Macca (needs to play 80 minutes and become more consistent)

Glad to see Gillett slowly creeping back to form. Had a couple of massive tackles, including that try saver where he held up the Penrith forward (forgot who it was).

Still worried about the amount of people dropping off tackles though, but at the same time happy there is definitely progress in the team, and I don't think the Panthers were that bad tonight. Besides, the way we took the game by the scruff right after that 12-12 was a very good sign!

Team I'd like to see in the finals:

1- Norman
2- Copley
3- Reed
4- Hodges
5- Beale
6- Wallace
7- Hunt
8- Hannant
9- Macca
10-Civo
11-Glenn
12-Thaiday
13-Parker

14-Gillett
15-McGuire
16-Te'o
17-Capewell (to give Macca the break he still needs)

Wasn't surprised either, doesn't look like he'll ever get a full time gig in the halves (even though he deserves one)
Unless Norman gets Locky's brain stem cells, Hunt must be in the halves next season. And if he isn't, my respect for Hook will quickly disappear!

Frustrating to watch at times, but good to get the win.

Our attack still looks about as threatening as pencil case, which is a big concern.

Norman setup Glenn with a cracker of a pass, but other than that he was absolutely dreadful. I've defended him a lot this year, but gee whiz, some of the plays (or lack of really) he came up with tonight were pitiful. The number of times he received the ball with an overlap on his outside yet elected to run it himself... argh!

Thought Petero, Glenn and Te'o were our best forwards, with Copley the best of the backs. Great comeback from him.

The Tigers can still make the finals as long as the Raiders lose. they would still have to beat the Storm and make up a 14 point differential over the raiders... quite possible

im pretty stoked that copley played well. backed him from early in the season.

Me too....against an avalanche of hate and cat calls of nuffiness from the so called experts.

The loudest was that absolute wanker Elia Turdquiri. Like to see what he has to say now.

:001_rolleyes:

Don't they have to beat the Storm by 50+.....?

It would depend on how much the Raiders would lose by. Basically the tigers victory margin added to the absolute margin of the raiders loss would have to be 15+
