Purely playing devils advocate here.
We are scared of the Storm (don't think anyone has said we are scared of any other team) because of an 8 year losing streak.
Also the argument could be made against resting players in order to maintain momentum.

Pretty sure Penrith are not resting anyone for their run into the finals.
(I could be wrong).

Penrith copped a loss last week that they probably aren't comfortable with, no doubt about it actually, that much is obvious based on the team they've selected.

they will if we win ... not to mention that for the final round of their past two premiership campaigns, they've had mass restings

They probably had a buffer in both situations.

I can see the NRL coming up with something to stop this happening again, when you got 2 teams doing it, it can really bring into question the integrity of this fixture.

They rested players last week as far as I know.

We have struggled against Storm over the years but our time has come and our next generation is here. I am not extremely confident this week but I hope we win and play storm 1st week of finals. We have the better team and we are the new and improved Broncos, that will smash this Storm side.

I honestly think Penrith are more concerned about combinations and match fitness for some of their players. I don't think the result tonight affects the team they run out to end the Cowboys' season.

Yeah, this. I don't know if a timeframe has been confirmed yet but it seems likely that even if Luai plays again this year, it won't be until the Preliminary...but they have to get there first, which means getting some game time into Cogger at 6 and working on the change in combinations. I don't think they care who they face in Week 1 tbh.

Not to mention a team not affected by injuries I believe. No need to work on combos etc.

To be fair I don't think it's the same people arguing both sides.
Yeah, also, I think people were pro resting players given Penrith was ahead of us on the ladder and there was no chance of us matching their for and against. Now that they have dropped the game against the Eels, the minor prem is very much there for the taking if we want it.

I was very much in the don't rest players camp, however against the go for minor prem camp because I wanted to maintain the rage and keep winning, but didn't want the players to get a big head and slack off because they had achieved something.

I think this is the best of both worlds. We still have a shot at winning the minor prem, however it will be the baby broncos that do it. The stars being rested will come back even more hungry to win the comp either way.

Having compared the two sides, we should win this game.

Bring your bananas tonight boys and girls, just don't throw them on the field.

I thought that was funny but I also thought there's no way people are going to be allowed to hurl bananas around without being escorted out of the stadium.

And if the NRL do implement something it will be another reason to dislike the organisation. Having depth, knowing who and when to rest is all part of good team management. It shouldn't matter which round it is, and if the NRL don't understand that, well, I wouldn't be surprised, actually. The players are already playing sooo much footy in one season, and forcing players to sacrifice their bodies for entertainment to an even greater extent is just wrong, IMO.

Come on man, NRL and integrity do not go hand in hand.

We've just given Dolphins their next bit of merchandise to sell at the merchandising stands.
