Round 27 v Storm / Strategy?

When are you signing on as head of performance ?
What evidence do you have to back up such strong words ?
The history of every team sport ever. Any high performance or sports science team would tell you exactly the same. Trust me I would know... I do know a bit about the field.

They won't be resting anybody because they will be going for the minor premiership I would say. Has nothing to do with that. You simply don't play guys if you have your position stamped. It is dumb but is not surprising some of you guys think they should play....

I know your trying to troll because i don't believe you're as stupid as you're pretending to be ...

but going by you're own logic in this post i'm quoting, then we should not rest a single player, because we play the first game of the final round, where we will likely still be in contention for the minor premiership (of course we will need the Cowboys to stop sucking for 80 minutes in order to get it)

It isn't that hard to understand. If your team knows they are in a certain position then they rest all their guns. If they don't and can move up they don't. What is exactly hard for you to comprehend?

Full strength unless players geniuenly need rest, we have the late bye, having another week off not long after can be disruptive.

The kicker is having the bye......that'll be enough to give everyone a spell.

Unless there's a niggling injury
Everyone plays. Gotta keep it tuned.

That is simply not true .

And the qualification of "I do know a bit about the field ."Are you a groundsman ? LOL .

Then why are you here giving advice for free ??

What's wrong mate, did you have a bad night last night or something?

who cares ( or knows) if we rest players for this game and there is another one b4 that which could influence things so let’s not get ahead of ourselves. To me the main issue is we have beat the Storm in that last round no matter who takes the field and we have to be ready to counter the surge they employ ( just like the All Blacks do ) This time we have be ready and go with them during those crucial periods otherwise it’s back to eating sh….t sandwiches again.

In theory it makes sense, however momentum in sport is a thing.

Getting flogged the week before finals is not a good thing. Rest anyone with niggles, play them if fit.

It doesn't matter one little bit if half your team is out of the game. You have to worry about a team mentally if they can't cop a flogging with a C team playing and be "down in confidence" the week after with all their guys back.

It is true. Saying it isn't is just a flat out lie. Anybody that thinks not having rest before finals is an idiot. That is being kind.

The wolf thinking that playing guys with a position locked up is about the least surprising thing on this site....
Hilarious. Keep up the good work kid. I love it when you try to make out you are intelligent.

Saying a team should rest all its guns if they are secure in their spot = trying to sound intelligent

**** its a low bar....

You must be pretty dumb. I havent said a thing yet. But i'll trust Kevvies judgement seeing as he has won 6 more premierships than @JayPee and 5 more than his little NQ Cowboys. If he thinks they need it, i'm sure he will rest them.

But what i will say now, to give you something to actually quote me on, is you dont want to lose momentum if there isnt any need to. You adjust the loads in training if there is a possible issue with fatigue. You dont change the team unless its necessary to do so. You look for the players who may need a break and give them a break. You dont just do what you are suggesting and just drop all your best players if there is no need. You manage them. Thats what you call smart coaching.

Psychologically beating Melbourne, and beating them well has been the biggest mental block to your premiership chances for the last decade.

We know we can toe-to-toe with Penrith. The Melbourne demon needs to be excorcised, used to wipe our asses and flushed forever.

You are just a constant smart ass mate about everything to me. How hard is it to have a civil conversation about a topic without constantly going at me. Ever since I got here.

I appreciate the genuine take in the bottom half of your post. I will guarantee you if somehow the Panthers stuff up the next few weeks or you guys do and you either have the minor premiership sewn up or 2nd place that none of your main guys are playing in the last round. Walsh, Carrigan, Haas, Reynolds, Capewell, Staggs just to name a few. I firmly believe every single coach would do the same. Having as much rest as possible for your best players is what you want when you have a finals series coming up. Imagine carrigan or haas playing in a meaningless game last round and picking up a head knock. That would be devastating. Eliminate the risk. Frankly the push back from a few here is weird to me. I don't understand it. Maybe is because it's coming from me and because I'm not a supporter. Extremely defensive about the logical approach
