PRE-GAME Round 3 - Broncos vs Bulldogs

Against Storm, Rabbitohs and Panthers in rd 4, 5 & 6?

That's some quality hopium

In fairness to @Foordy, he lives on hopium. One day he will be correct too, even if that one day is a long time away yet.

Last night the Titans were exuberant after beating the wooden spooners. The previous week Parramatta were over the moon, giddy with joy after beating the wooden spooners.

So, if we get a win you're not pleased. I just don't understand that thinking. 🤔
Its bittersweet.
Is it a win? yes.
Is it a win that changes anything? I think not.

We beat the Storm, Rabbits, Roosters or Panthers and this team would explode with confidence.
We beat the Dogs and its more of the same.

Look, I want a win as desperately as the next fan, but I don't think we should get too ahead of ourselves that the elusive win we so desperately need is coming this Saturday. I watched the Dogs v Penrith game today and although beaten, I thought Canterbury more than held their own and matched Penrith for a large part of the game. They also have some dangerous players, particularly Cotric. He is a very powerful ball runner and will give our defence plenty of headaches. As a side note, gee, a player such as Cotric would be nice in our jersey right about now.

Young Flanagan also has some pretty good game management nous, as well as a more than decent kicking game. Then of course you have Corey Allen chiming in from the back creating that extra man play which he often did last year at Souths.

We should get away with a win here, but it is by no means a fait accompli like a few of you guys seems to be predicting. In our current state and with our negative mindset caused by such a dreadful losing streak, it really is a toss of the coin game I believe.

Fair enough. I can't foretell the future but it doesn't matter who we beat. We win a game, we feel better and it has restorative power. It's reward for effort and two points against the Dogs has the same value as two from a victory over the Storm.

I know they're different but it doesn't matter to the players, to them they just want to win against anyone. This team is not done and we are close, way closer than most think.

Surely we can kick a few field goals from outside 40 or something...?
Nah Milf had a shot right in front of the posts and 20m out against the eels, at the end of the first half and the ball didn't go 6 ft off the ground.

We need to put 50 on the dogs to even scratch the surface of rebuilding the club. Is that too much to ask?

If he plays like he did last week consistently no, if he plays like he did last night consistently, yes.

Just to early to call imo.
Mate its 2021 the blokes had close to 6 years to play consistently good footy. He should be as dependable a 6 as Reynolds is a half back or Munster, but the bloke can't run a simple game plan. Enough is enough, everyone but him has been to blame in that time, "its Hunt" "It's Knick" "It's Bird" "It's Turpin" "It's Dearden" "It's Boyd", "Its Croft" it's everyone but him and I am probably missing somebody there. He just doesn't have it and how many blokes have we lost because of him, I dare say we would be playing better if Hunt and Knick were here or even Hunt and Taylor. But no we got Millionford who after close to 10 years in first grade still runs that stupid line where he just lazily hands the ball off to somebody under him, that ain't creative play its a nothing play and its his go to as a ball player. I am sick of the guy, dishing out the same old crap, week in week out, even in his good years he was dropping the ball and just being half hearted all the time but we had the experience around to cover for it. But as time has gone on we have lost those guys and he has been exposed as a pretender, a one dimensional player who looks a million bucks in broken play with other quality players around him.

I loved the bloke all those years ago and excused him for what I thought he could do for us, but I have woken up to it. If he turns it around great, but I doubt he will and If was Kev I would make him prove me wrong in Qcup.

The only person I blame for the current state of Milf is seibold.

you should be blaming Milford
That our entire team went from decent to shit under seibold and in one of two games since pies fucked off he was our best on ground?

Except he wasn't.

AND if we are going to cherry pick stats, in the other he was worst on ground.

He was. Well the majority of us determined he was at least in the top two and Darren Lockyer thought he was our best.
