Whats up with Capewell ... Is Kevvie foxing with the run on side ?????

On this, I definitely agree with you. Kennedy is easily the better player. Talk/shmalk. I can't judge players on their supposed on field talk, but I think as a forward talk only goes so far, run it hard, tackle hard, that's all I care about.
Huge....no c in shmalk? Schmalk. Or are 2 c's required? Schmalck? Or no c required at all? Asking for a friend.

Patty:

“It would be tough to lose Jordan and Kurt. We have a lot of depth and we’ll see how long Riki is out for. I feel for Brendan Piakura, he has a lot of hype around him and he’s a talented guy, but he’s just had some injuries to deal with. When he strings some footy games together, it will be exciting for the club.”
“Matt Lodge will bring aggression and strong carries. He has a good carry in him and he is a smart footy player. When he first came to the club, ‘Lodgey’ was one of the guys that took Payne Haas and myself under his wing and taught us a couple of things. It’s good to play against your good mates and Lodgey will be a challenge this week, he will be fired up and ready to go.”
“I don’t want to say it’s complacency, but the NRL is a tough comp week in, week out and if you think you are going better than you are, it has a way to bring you back to earth. ‘Cozza’ (Corey Parker) has played a lot of footy and he has played in a lot of good teams, so he knows the dynamic of how good packs work and he is entitled to his opinion there. You don’t win comps in round three so hopefully we grow as a team and learn some of the lessons that Cozza is trying to touch on.”

Oh, Kevvie - what's doing with this team.

I'm starting to believe that "over-training" rumor

I actually credit Kev for keeping the team basically unchanged except for injuries. His 17 is fine but some of his forward options are a bit whacky as far as James starting goes.

I would like to see Walters get a stint during the first half rather than saving him for the end when the game is out of the balance.

Round 3 after 2 wins is too soon to make wholesale changes. It’s basically admitting that your whole off season plan was wrong. Kev needs to back his off season and round 1 team selection - if they don’t come good by round 7-10 then make the big changes, if they’re still struggling after that than he isn’t the man for the job.

That being said, I find it hard to see us winning if both Kurt and Riki are out.

I do think for a few of them this is the week they have to stand up and perform. I like the coach to have a consistent side, which i why i wouldnt have changed the round 1 side apart from Arey. 4 or 5 game in though if they same players arent producing you surely have to change.

I would still really like to see Farnworth at the back.

As it seems that’s not going to happen this week, in the meantime, I’d be OK with him and Tesi swapping during the game for a few sets here and there.

Absolutely. Isaako performed and so did Kennedy and both were dropped. Inexplicably Uni walked straight back in but I'd have him play local mistake free football first and I wouldn't disrupt a winning team.

If Nui wasn't so bad at defending in the line as we seen when he played in the centre's it would be worth putting Herbie at fullback for defence and doing the kick returns.

I'd imagine we'll see some late changes. Walters' is playing ducks and drakes with Riki and if Capewell is ruled out I'd imagine we may see Ryan James tossed into the edge backrow like he was against the Cowboys when Kurt came from the field. I wouldn't be shocked at all if we see him and Flegler swap with James coming onto replace Palasia or Robati during the game.

I'm surprised that Hosking wasn't named as a reserve, I would have thought given the injury toll you may want him around as cover and he had pretty good numbers for Wynnum on the weekend.

Otherwise business as usual and I'm not surprised at all to see Walters take a patient approach.
I think Kevvie will definitely be making some changes before kick off.

Can see TC starting.. or potentially he will come on at the 25-30 minute mark and play out the game... It all comes down to whether he thinks he can get 80mins out of whoever he starts.

Palasia played 2nd row against rorters last year and may have got through 80mins?? (cant quite recall)... so not really a surprise to see him get one spot.

I don't really know who we even have left to play 2nd row with Capewell, Riki and Piakura out, other than TC... there might be a left field make shift option pending how training goes through the week.

On Hosking is he maybe not available because everyone missing is due to injury / suspension and not covid??

The way the NRL / media reporting worded it at the start of the year was that T&T players and development players were available if a player is ruled out due to covid, but not sure they necessarily mentioned throughout the year regardless of top 30 status.

Paix 3 try assists on the weekend and still can’t make the team. Kevvie is a fucking knob.
