I think Staggs has been the form centre in the comp just quietly. He’s been unreal in defence and had his moments in attack. He looks to be taking more of the grunt work on out of trouble too.

Surely he’ll get into the nsw side if he keeps this form up.

I dont think he will ever play for NSW again tbh.

Pleased to see both hookers nick a try each. Baker’s try assist and his all round game tonight was chalk and cheese from last week. Hunt was also a reliable stand in. No mistakes and no penalties.

Paddy was again throwing shade on Hercules. Deserved the inaugural Charlie Webb medal. Loved how he pushed off JT and then produced a superb quick ptb to set up the try.

Sailor did his fair share of Carries off our line but his woeful attempted tackle on Dropwater was a bit of a howler.

I think we left at least four tries out there tonight. Quite astonishing considering the conditions.

After tonight though I’m not sure what constitutes a support runner. So you don’t need to be running and even if you throw your hands up in the air to signal you’re not intending to interfere with play the bunker will still consider you as running and supporting. 😂😂😂😂

It's pretty hard for them to overturn an offside on the kick situation if it's a 50/50 or even a 40/60, the angle will always be deceptive one way or another.

The one thing with Oates compared to our other backrowers tonight is he has a lot more physicality in his runs. I've been on the Oatsey train in the back row, or as a bench player for a while. I think he's a great option.
I can see Oates coming on late in the game and being our version of a Shaun lane in attack. Set up for a sweep play and while everyone has eyes on Walsh/sailor, a short ball for Oates to stroll over.
And When he didn't get the ball he was running into space.
We've used a play a few times in previous seasons where Oates sweeps from his wing and hits a hole infield.
If your a half making a decision who are you taking Oates running a hole or Walsh sweeping out the back?
Oates off the bench as outside back cover or a stint in backrow should be the move for the remainder of the season.

Loved having big Oatesy back in the field. Could really reinvent himself in the back end of his career here.

Though between Cobbo’s match fitness and Mariner’s positional awareness, I still think Oates is a bit hard done by not getting a position in the starting 13.

Sailor had his best game imo. Nothing too flashy but actually did his job.

Patty and Reyno were unreal. Xavier is going to be a star.

Mariner copped a bashing from reyno for missing the chip on the outside of his boot. Nowhere to be seen. Mariner and cobbo are both talented, not much between the ears though. I don't think I've ever seen a more rocks and diamonds player than selwyn. Tonight we got droppo for sure.

As I sat in the bucketing rain 15 mins before kickoff, I was very concerned for how we'd fair respecting the ball.

Boys did unreal.

Reyno's influence on this team is just fantastic.

Absolutely drenched, but a great win with key outs against the 'only QLD chance'.

What a GREAT Friday.

I understand it now. We just need ro develop the ability to teleport 4 metres infront of the ball player then get in the way and it’s all g lol

Don't get too harsh on them it is there new full seasons in the starting sides positions. They are both only going to get better for sure.

Tonight has sold me on the Jersey I think. Haven't made a purchase since the Anzac Jersey of 2016(?). Keen on this one though
