Hopoate remains... I know our options are limited but damn bad performances never get accounted for. His errors were pretty much unforced errors.

Missing 3 of our starter 2nd rowers really limits your options.

Injuries and suspensions for the last year have been a nightmare.

I think we should stick with him. It was one bad game for a guy new to first grade. Boyd Oates and Offa are the ones who should be dropped for ongoing unprofessional displays. Although Boyd has been better this year but he doesn't offer much.

I'm not seeing much unprofessional in any of those really. Oates and Joffa arent in great form but thats not the same thing.

Why were all these monkeys saying Farnsworth and Bullemore are replacing Staggs and Glenn? They were in our 17 last week.... Clearly the replacements are Niu and Paix ? (Kennedy if we want to less ball control) .

I’ve always thought Offa was better off starting as he gets better with match time and doesn’t really provide impact off the bench. Plus he is getting paid a lot too. Let hoppa come off the bench as starting is too much pressure for him.

Joe did have some great games starting (I think at lock?) last year or year before

I remember when Offa started against the warriors a few years ago
He made 1 run in like 60 minutes

You are right unprofessional is unfair. I take it back.

They just continue to make errors and poor decisions that are not first grade standard. As senior players I think they need to be held accountable and be dropped. Harder to do when there is no reserve grade. I think the players are to assured of their positions.

I would start Hoppa again and give him a chance to make up for last week. Offa could start in 13. That is a good idea if you want him to play long minutes and find some form.

I think Joe is a dying breed in terms of middle forwards, this one referee / 6 to-go rule change is only accelerating his extinction. If you're a large middle forward with an average motor, minimal skill and don't have a reliable offload, you're probably going to be without a job in 2-3 years. That's just the way it's going.

A few off the top of my head who need to completely overhaul their body / game or risk being out of a job: Joffa, S.Boyd, Asofa-Solomona.

Klemmer is a great example of someone who HAS adapted to the changes in the game, over the last couple of years he's slimmed down so he can play longer minutes and has incorporated a very good offload and short pass into his game.

Intimidation by tallis
Big hit by Carroll
Owning the middle with a 1-2 by webcke and ciovoniceva

I think the current forward pack will be our best ever if it stays together, but ffs it has a way to go to catch up to that lot. Theyre all supremely talented but they are still far behind in determination, resilience and just plain doing what is needed

Wasn’t joe renowned for his huge motor when he was coming through the ranks?

From memory, not really. He was a big metre eater when he played NYC, but I don't think he was an 80 minute player by any stretch, even still, playing big minutes in NYC doesn't equate to anything in terms of NRL prospects.

I just don't know what his role is, perhaps he could play an Aidan Tolman style role, start at prop, play 55-60 minutes, churn out some metres and tackles. But it certainly won't be at the Broncos, he's barely in our top 17 when we're fully healthy. My prediction is that this will be the last season of Joffa at the Broncos.

he is signed till 2022..... so probably not?

Two interesting stats comparing round 1-2 and 3.

Meters pg- 2771- 3069
Tackles pg-602.69- 677.13

53 six to go and nine tries from them.
677.13 tackles pg is the most since 98.
50 tries round three- 90 rounds 1-2.
30 tries from kicks round 1-2.
9 round 3.
77 line breaks round 3- 102 round 1-2.

I’m also pretty sure his motor was actually his big wrap coming through under 20s as well. I think I remember reading or hearing that the excitement was he could go longer than anyone else and was quite hyped by some about it.
