I'm tipping the Bulldogs to go 4 straight weeks without scoring a point as they play the Storm in round 5.

they should break the duck the following week when the play the Cowboys in round 6

I reckon you could throw the eels into the mix as well. They seem so far to be playing a bit tougher and seem a bit more resilient.

It'll be interesting to look at the ratings across the board to see whether the NRL can afford to be patient. I think a lot of what we're seeing is the result of really bad mismanagement from clubs and the change in rules that make it extremely difficult for teams to work themselves into the contests. The referees are having less of an impact than before, so we're rarely seeing those 'How's Trent' penalties that change the entire complexion of the game. The smarter teams are gaming the system as well, deliberately giving them away on play one, getting under the skin of their opponents and throwing them off their game.

There either has to be a draft or the bottom 4 teams get 10% salary cap bonus for the following year. Right now it's not close to even

That game where they beat the storm showed to me anyway they look like they have more resolve about them. Early days yet still.

didn't fox sports talk about doing that either last year or the year before ... talked about it all off season IIRC, only for round one to happen and we never heard about it again (maybe someone from the NRL got in their ears to prevent it happening)

Well of course, they can’t secretly pick and choose when they want to enforce the very thing that makes rugby league. They would have to run a legitimate competition.
