Round 4 Discussion

Cotric doesn’t know how to draw and pass. Omg, it’s the first thing you learn at touch footy ffs. How do you get to this level without that skill.
clearly a winger.

Nah not gonna happen. rabbits destroy the only team apart from manly worse than ours and an injury depleted roosters so what. Bennett is past it, it’s another 6-8 finish from him.

Meninga playing off Cody's elbows to the back of the head as "passion" f*****g idiot.

Cody Walker is a fucking grub, and i hope he is rubbed out for at least 4 games for that elbow to the back of the head.
Mate I had the game on delay and went through the second half twice I could not find the incident. When was it?

At what point does the NRL concede the cap isn't working any more.
It's nearly impossible for the lower teams to claw their way out. Whenever they get some talent one of the top teams picks them off.
When we were on top and keeping our roster we were cheating the cap now the narrative is top teams get players cheaper because they accept a discount for success and bottom teams have to payextra .
Let's say that's true . How then do bottom sides compete when effectively they are operating with less cap and the top sides are operating with more cap.
It's clearly not evening out the talent.

It was the first half then. Thanks not even a mention on NRL.com either. So i think he'll get away with it.
Nah he is fucked.
There was a second incident where he did the same thing and it kicked off a melee, MRC will ping him for both, my guess is 2 weeks.

Its not that uncommon in the NRL these days. Still better than 10 or so years ago, where pretty much every winger that showed any amount of attacking talent was moved into the centres and just kept on playing like a winger.

They would struggle at the best of times but when you take DWZ, Okunbor, Averillo, Marshall-King, Thompson, Jackson, Faitala-Mariner etc. out of the team and then lose your five-eighth 10 minutes into the game it makes life extremely difficult. Hopoate can't be 100% either, he was struggling with an injury last week against the Broncos and he was going to need more than six days to get over it.

I liked a lot of moves Barrett made in the player market and thought they had every chance of joining that mid-tier of teams but then I remembered Trent's time at Manly. We're starting to see the same mentality at the Bulldogs where they're creating opportunities, but there's a soft underbelly there and just some questionable selections.

I'd dare say the new signings have been among their worst as well. Flanagan is an easy target in defence, Waddell is not offering much resistance, Hetherington has been a real non-factor in the middle and even though I think he's a bit hard done by the fact remains is that Allan was punted from the fullback position.

That was a bad sign from Barrett when he named Allan on the wing. He just lost his five-eighth and hooker, the Bulldogs needed as many established combinations they could get and if it wasn't working out, I don't see why you wouldn't just move Meaney there mid-game.

The only positive is that Tapine handled the game pretty well. With him and Doorey around, I never understood the desperation to sign Piakura - if there was any club who I thought would go out of their way it would be the Cowboys.

They've got a tough week ahead with the Storm so I can't see them getting over the hump until at least week six when they play the Cowboys.

It's really interesting to follow these bottom five teams in the Broncos, Bulldogs, Cowboys, Sea Eagles, Tigers etc. they've just got so much catching up to do it'll be interesting to see what moves they make and if they can find that magic bullet they so desperately need.

Even the fox commentators are talking about this tonight.
There is a massive divide between the top tier teams, and the bottom tier teams, to the point where clubs like Manly and the Doggies this season, might as well not even play.

Round 4 should be used as evidence for arguing against a 17th side. The opening 3 games aren't competitive at all, there isn't enough talent in the comp as it is.

There will be a massive push for a draft.

1:45 is the second incident, not as bad as an elbow to the back of the head, but it wont look good in light of the first incident.
