PRE-GAME Round 4 - Roosters vs Broncos

It’s time to see if seibold can make those bold decisions

So if he's left edge we can only assume that Glenn is getting the axe to the bench. Makes sense, hopefully that's how we take shape, I think that's absolutely our best starting pack moving forward.

8. Lodge
10. Ofa
11. Gillett
12. Fifi
13. TPJ

This morning on Triple M Dobbo had Fifita going to the bench and Glenn retaining the starting spot. But it is Dobbo…

He looked pretty fucked last Thursday. It's too bad if he misses out due to injurt (or whatever), he really lifted for the Roosters last year.

Staggs was fantastic against the Roosters in his debut last year, so at least we aren't going to lose heaps with him there.

Well, that hurts our chances.

The Roosters didn't target Staggs. They pretty much left him alone and targeted Roberts instead because he's on Mitchell's side.

Staggs is going to be marking up against Mitchell, and when it comes to the defensive side of things, I'm not exactly fill with confidence. Roberts has more x factor so he can at least make up for it.

Is there not an operation or something he can get? He was fucked for most of last year and it looks like much the same again this year.

He can get surgery, but it seems as though they decided against it.

Staggs isn't in the same universe as the Jet. He'll do a steady job but the Roberts X factor will be sadly missed.

I bet latrell Mitchell is happy Roberts is out

A healthy Roberts out is a big loss. This version of Roberts out is a plus. About from the length of the field try he was able to do absolutely nothing. He was invisible. Outside of that one run anyone in the crowd could had contributed as much as he was able to.

I said after the game in my review post that I thought Roberts should get rested and he is. Staggs may not be able to run 90 metres untouched but he can still defend stoutly in the centres and has been known to find a timely line break. For mine if his only job all night was to keep Mitchell contained, I'm happy with that.

I'm wondering if they might play Jack on the right??

Understanding the downside would be that he has trained all preseason on the left therefore there would be a reluctance to move him and potentially disrupt our defense.

But the inclusion of Staggs and Gillett (in the 2nd row) will disrupt the defense regardless of where they end up (right or left)... so if it's a one off they might look to move Bird to stiffen up the potentially vulnerable right side.

Gillett on the right would add some more starch as well.

That would leave Staggs and Glenn (likely) on the left up against Manu and Crichton.

Whoever plays against the vegemite stained upper lip is going to be in for a torrid time. I've never wanted to see someone smashed as badly as I want Mitchell planted. Main reason I guess is because he's so good. The closest to him was Cronulla's Wade Graham and his shit eating grin (no not talent wise, just someone I like seeing put on his arse)
