POST GAME Round 4 - Roosters vs Broncos

I love it how people are using this as the barometer for the terrible coach swap we have done... .I mean, it's fair enough. Seibold has had 4 games already! Bennett had 4 years and got the team upto the great standard shown in the dragons final, which is STILL in my view the most embarrassing loss in the broncos history given the magnitude of the game and the favouritism we had.
When are these players going to be held accountable. And ironically enough the players we all want sacked/retire are the same ones Bennett stuck by for years and have been giving these same performances for years with the odd sporadic 7/10 game which was used to justify their spot.

Good post mate.

You cant get at the coach in some ways after 4 games, but for me he has so far bottled the tough decisions so he has to take some blame. We look worse in defence and attack than last year.

Its up to the coach to hold these players accountable now though. If he doesnt and he doesnt drop some of these blokes, he wont have a job.

This game yes, the other games I don't think it's fair to say we were worse. We lost to the storm and to the dragons by ALOT more points last year then we did last year with systems we had 4 years to learn and mcguire, thaiday and sims to give experience in the middle.

Like it or not we do not have a team ready for anything this year, I couldn't believe the hype this team got in preseason and always said Bennett would have far more success this year with a moreexperienced and premiership ready team. I am not writing off this year by any means, but sacking Bennett and hiring seibold was always going to take more then 1 year to show fruit with the squad we have. Re-signing mccullough, boyd for 4 years (wtf), anda 30 year old gillett just back from serious injury, playing nikorima at halfback were decisions made BEFORE SEIBOLD GOT THERE yet people on here are claiming that there performances are signs he should be sacked despite the poor performances by 3/4 of those players happening for years. Give him a chance to make some changes! He can't just smash the team apart before a ball is kicked, imagine team harmony lol

McCullough definitely wasn't the main problem, but he just isn't good enough either. Hopefully Staggs gets a shot and kills it there.

I think the defence has been shocking tbh. Think they were saying after the game we have missed 156 tackles in our four games this year, which is very, very ordinary. I'm not writing off Seibs, but i dont think he has improved us anywhere yet tbh.

I don't know which Macca his supporters have been watching but the one wearing the Broncs number 9 was passing what I can only describe as floating bombs to his playmakers. I mean, they were LITERALLY spiralling up at about the second storey level and then coming down behind or to the side of the 6 and 7's head. I wasn't even mad, I was kind of astonished it was even possible.

Also don't really care what the story is with Segeyaro unless he is facing court time. If not, goodness me, sign him yesterday!

This photo was taken after the contact, and the ball had barely travelled 2 feet.

I think that was a tackle from earlier. Not the one he was put on report for.

Just saw the reply. Penalty sure, definitely shouldn't be a suspension. Broncs absolutely should challenge.

Worth noting, someone on reddit slowed down the footage of the hit on McGuire and the hit on Cronk, they were both 0.4 seconds after the ball was released.

The hit on McGuire was hit with nothing but praise from everyone, no suspension, not on report, not even a penalty. Yet when it happens to a precious half like Cronk it's an immediate 2-3 weeks. Strange stuff.

I’ve been saying it wasn’t that late but just this image would be enough to quash any appeal.

That is a game plan problem. The coach decides who takes those kicks and for some reason he hasn't chosen our biggest kicker. It's amazing the obvious things our new Harvard educated coach can't see.

Yeah ...like how shit our dummy half is.

You might be onto something I reckon Tommo. Some of us are more prone than others to being affected by these types of things and little issues can snowball quickly. You really have to wonder if the poor bugger has more going on in his life than he is willing to share with the world.
Maybe his missing the father figure relationship with WB. I thought about making a joke about his dad but I genuinely think that after all the times he has emotionally relied in WB's support, he may be suffering mentally with him gone. That could easily translate into unmotivated footy displays and if the captain is down in the dumps, most others are probably dragged down. Especially due to the young age of many guys. Looked like Boyd really have Oates a serve for not holding his wing a few times in attack...

Bennett was here last season and Boyd was still a squid. He hasn’t been good since 2016.

It's not a straight out comparison, he has 40 carry over points and 20% loading from two other offences. That's contributing massively to his two weeks.
