Round 5 - Broncos vs Knights - Post Match Discussion

Norman has had the next chance every bastard wanted him to. Can we piss him off now. He's useless.

He was on the field for less than 10 minutes at fullback, give him a break.

Good game. Hard to judge our attack in the wet conditions though.

Kenny is hopeless in his current position.
Jane is slowly earning his D back.
I hope to God that wasn't just a fluke from Wallace. Good game from him.
Beale. I like Beale at FB. I reckon Hoffman might be a bit dirty about being injured, I think he's going to have to fight to get his position back. Beale > Hoffman IMO.
Hodges clearly wants to play origin.
The commentators summed it up perfectly last night with Reed. He looks comfortable in the team, and a new person watching the Broncos wouldn't know he was a rookie with as good as no games under his belt.

I'm still concerned with out attack and not getting to a kick. Parker, and Thaiday twice last night had the ball on the 5th. Why does it keep happening?

Also, why is our attack bunched up together instead of in an attacking line to allow the ability to throw the ball around? Are all the young guys trying to get a touch to show they are awesome?

Beale over Hoffman?
Beale has a couple of good games, Hoffman has been outstanding over the past season and a bit.
Beale is nothing special, he's a utility at best. Hoffman will become the best fullback the club has had only behind Lockyer.

Beale > Hoffman

Considering Hoffman's only played 1 and a half games before getting injured, that's hardly an achievement.

Wasnt he injured halfway into round 3? So both have played 2.5 games at fullback.

Hoffman > Beale

Even I agree with Jeba!
Beale's couple of good games still doesn't has shieet on Hoffman's game.

We played well, from what I saw.
Our defence was solid and brick wall like as usual, but I think against much stronger oppostion such as the Dragons or the Storm, we would of lost that game.

I like what I am seeing, so far, although it is only round 5. We'll know if we are contenders or pretenders a couple weeks after Origin 3.

So far, so good, can't really complain at the moment. Defense has been amazing, although we all know our attack needs some major work. Griffin, your doing a mighty fine job so far mate, keep it up!

Knights forward Cory Paterson could miss his side’s clash with the Sharks on Sunday after he was charged with Dangerous contact by the Match Review Committee.

Paterson was sighted in the 73rd minute of his side’s loss to the Broncos in Monday Night Football, for making contact with his knees on Jharal Yow Yeh.

Broncos forward Dane Carlaw was also sighted for dangerous contact, but will be available to take his place against the Roosters at BlueTongue Stadium.

WOW the NRL actually did something..

And for Stone, worst 24hours ever?
http://www.nrl.com/nrl-hits-knights-wit ... fault.aspx
Newcastle coach Rick Stone completed a miserable 24 hours after the Knights were slapped with a $10,000 breach notice by the NRL over his comments following Monday night's loss to Brisbane.

Ah well, Wayne has said he wants Rick as his assistant, so there's a silver lining...

BTW, I love how NRL.com said the match review committee "sighted" Carlaw and Paterson. I did too. I "sighted" them quite a few times during the game.

lol, love how there are all these people out there saying "against the Dragons or the Storm we would have lost" LOL! Of course we would have, unless we'd have had a week to prepare to play the Storm or the Dragons & put together a game plan that would have negated their strengths.

Beale has been superb at fullback for us but Hoffman is still and will always be our future at fullback.

I hope the coach doesn't think the same way. It's that BS loyalty that caused us to have some of the worst players to remain in the run on squad in recent years.

I hope Hoffman has been told that Beale is doing a good job, and they will both be fighting for the position.

I know what you are saying but I don't think you are using it at the right time. Hoffman was in great form and got injured he deserves his spot back. If he comes back and is playing poorly then yes replacing him with Beale is an option.

Why? Why should players who get injured automatically get their spot back as soon as they are available. They should have to prove their worth and dedication in Q-Cup. Then once they show they are still the goods, then they come back.

Why drop a player who's playing well with the team, just because he's not the bloke that was there before him?
