The most infuriating thing about Milf's kicking game tonight was that for the last 30 or so minutes, it was actually quite good. He stopped the midfield bombs and kicked a couple of really nice grass finding kicks that had Souths starting their set in their own 20.
Yeah, but it's just not consistent enough.
The perfect example is that during the period you are talking about he was driving them low and hard, finding grass and getting it close to the in goal... however he had an opportunity to do that in the first half and he kicks it miles past the dead ball line.
The guy has no idea anymore... he can't find a gap to run into, he can't find a pass, he just torp bombs it or drop punt bombs it to the 20m line.
The most frustrating thing for me is that his best game was round 1 on the right hand side... and Kevvie immediately shifts him to the left when Fifita runs through him a couple times. I guess having Riki, Dearden, Niu and Coates playing next to each other in defence is soooo much better defensively with all of their 20 games of first grade between them....
Someone mentioned that Glenn wanted him back on the left or Milf wanted to be next to Glenn... well why not move Glenn to the right and have Glenn, Milf, Niu and Coates??
The first kick that Milf did which set him off in the 30min period you mentioned was him wrapping around the ruck and kicking it running left to right.. i.e. a kick from the right hand side. It was smooth off the boot and pulled up right inside the ingoal.
The other kick he did on the left hand side of the ruck pulled up at the in goal and and found grass, but it required him to check his run a little bit and looked ugly as ****.
I just don't think he's natural on the left (even though he's been playing there since he came to us)
