I loved it when Matt Scott knocked on at about the 69th minute, crowd went nuts, lifted the boys home :) I was super impressed with our defense tonight, awesome stuff.

Unfortunately I missed most of the first half. Well hala picked up where he left off. Its not every day you see defenders flattened on a kick off return, but I was most impressed by his defence. I'm his biggest fan now. Not a single player did badly tonight. Can't wait to vs one of the competition leaders. Would like to seemthe right hand combinations tell as well as the left. For the most part they all play individually. Once McGuire is back I want hala as the bench frf but then who does thaiday take minutes from in the second row? Gullet? Thaiday and Hodges have previously had a great combination. The pack looked to be getting a bit tired in the second half.(started to play a little one out at that point). Good that Hoffman and Hodges injected amazing dummyhalf runs at that point. Disappointing to see some of the fifth tackle options out of dummy half eg pass to gullet not to mention being tackled at dummy half. I think we may currently have the dominant frf pack.

Play was eventually restored after a no-try ruling, but Broncos coach Anthony Griffin later accused the officials of botching the penalty count."We're drawing a long bow if you want to give a penalty try for that,'' he fumed.
"He took the tackle count back to play three, it was the fifth play ... we had to make three more tackles after that.
"I don't know what was going through their heads. How can they get that wrong?''

Apparently when the Cowboys tackle in mid air, they get a penalty.

Happy about a lot of that performance. Kept Thurston well under control. Big from Parker and Hannant tonight. Also happy with Gillette .

I thought Wallace had the game tonight that earns him a lot of respect. Plenty of heart, great kicking, great kick chases, great defence and very vocal in organizing the attack. The try just before halftime was completely down to him getting people in position when every one was resigned to playing out the last minute. Prince threw a couple of nice passes but was a pedestrian for most of the game. Happy to see Hunt have a crack in there.

Awesome game to watch, even more so as a Broncos fan!

Despite missing out on Bowen, Johnson and Taumalolo, the Cowboys came to Suncorp to play, and that they did, with their best performance of the season by far. They met a Broncos outfit which was every bit as determined as them, and it resulted in a Origin like game, where the speed was exhausting just to watch!

Both teams did their homework, with the Cows clearly targeting Prince's defence, while the Broncos never gave Thurston an ounce of space or time, and seriously disturbed his kicking game as well. In the end, the best team won, and the Cowboys can take comfort in the knowledge that if they keep playing like this, they'll win 90% of their games.

I can't praise the Broncos enough, who managed to take it one notch further than last week. The two players I have my doubts about also improved with Maranta showing more positive signs and Macca some more urgency and speed.

Awesome go forward, even better defence with some astonishing try savers from both sides like the Parker one (WTF was that penalty try BS?), and other important tackles like Hala on Thurston. Also, both teams completed above 80% of their sets, which is crazy given the speed of the game!

As for the individuals, there wasn't a single bad player on the ground for both sides, but you gotta love how the Broncos are building and improving week by week.

Much credit should go to Wallace and the combinations on that left side. He still isn't a flashy player, but he's getting a lot of things right. Taking on the line, committing defenders and great pass timing to perfect that lethal left side combo is only one aspect. His kicking game has been very good as well and he's also been getting better at building pressure. I don't doubt that having a ball playing fullback that can actually time his runs and pace himself goes a long way to make the half-back's job easier.
Prince on the other side is starting to show signs, as that excellent pass to Maranta showed, and even if his defence leaves a bit to be desired, he is clearly a part of the improvement shown this year, so how about we don't touch what seems to be working?!?!

It's great to see Reed and Hoffy combine so well. Now imagine when we get the other side combining as well as the left with such quality players as Hodgo and Gillett... :thumbup1:

Finally, credit to the foundation of this all. Our forward pack has taken it to another level and managed to dominate an impressive Cowboys pack, with Hannant and Parker posting ridiculous stats in the order of almost 70 hit-ups + tackles! :scared:

TLDR: Awesome Origin-like game, everyone played really well, and get the **** off the back of our halves and coach!

I noticed that too! I was sure when he went to the video he said "that's tackle 5, I have a possible penalty try". Come back and it's play 3? WTF?

You really have to wonder how that can happen these days, when everything is so heavily scrutinised.

I think both sides got a couple of harsh calls last night.

Great game of footy. Only thing I would like to see is Prince to stop useing Gillett as a decoy every play and pass him the ball with space and depth.We seem to have little trouble on lefthand side of going thru the hands.On last tackle do we have too automatically kick it for something to do when in a great attacking position? I think i will go and watch the replay and enjoy how good the BRONCOS are!!

that was just awesome! The forwards were just outstanding, the whole pack though especially Hannant and Thaiday.
Hannant - Haven't seen a prop since S. Price put so much pressure on a kicker, always up there in their faces making it tough for them to put the kick away. An absolute massive game from him again, big call but I'll say it (believe it), Hannant is the next Webby. Lots of heart, big defence and big metres, never gives up...at all.
The pressure on Thurston was great and never let him get any space. That left side has really found out what to do, second man play starting with Wallace (the organiser) to Norman,Reed Hoffman with slick hands is working a treat. Wallace had another great game as did Maranta, some real solid runs from the back.
Well done lads, the Broncs are back!!!
