Lodge out with a throat injury.
How long will he be out for?
Lodge out with a throat injury.
This is the ultimate form of either insanity or utter spinelessness from the so called “Harvard” professor.
Another week where I bet against my beloved team to ensure I remain at the top of the BHQ tipping comp.
Pretty sure there are other people at the club who are paid to do that job though..If he had of dropped the players many want dropped and replaced them with underperforming ISC players, then the same people calling for these changes would start whinging when we start losing by bigger margins.
the sad fact is that he doesn't have the personnel at this point in time to make those changes ... and that is on Bennett.
Bennett has 4 years to replace Macca (or at least get him some competition), but we still have the same old plodder in the 9 with no viable back up option.
he had 2 years to replace Nikorima ... but he is still our 7, due our viable replacements being 1 to 2 years away from being able to handle NRL. and the other halves in our top squad aren't performing all that well in the ISC.

Broncos Stat Attack
Andrew McCullogh has made the most tackles in the NRL (239) but Matt Gillett (17) and Jack Bird (15) are ranked one and two for ineffective tackles. As a team the Broncos have a league-high 113 ineffective tackles.
Macca was good in good enough form to play origin last year.

We did sign Turpin expecting him to become alright. He's regressed. Looked amazing under Bennett (Ooh cherry picking is fun). But yeah I agree that he has made mistakes while looking for depth players. The problem with being the Broncos is that we can't have good depth. Once they are seen as good players and can't get a spot they are signed up by other clubs for ridiculous money. Whoever is in charge of contracts at the Broncos has an incredibly difficult job. They won't even bother looking if the head coach doesn't want them to though.

Yuck.
I would say that's a combination of long lay-offs, having to play foreign positions and having to protect two of the worst defensive players in the competition.
He was first bloke picked after Cat Smith tucked his balls between his legs and fucked off.
Turpin has not regressed. He was never that good to begin with. He wasn't in our top 30 last year and he isn't in our top 30 this year, and no Melbourne fans were sad to see him leave (the vast majority of them had no idea who he was). He wouldn't make the top 17 of any other NRL team and is only remotely relevant in discussion because of our lack of depth, not his own talent. And I'd still have him starting on Sunday if he was eligible. We did sign Turpin expecting him to become alright. He's regressed. Looked amazing under Bennett (Ooh cherry picking is fun). Who should we have kept/signed or let go? Not including the Taylor/Hunt situation because it's been done to death
