It's been suggested this becomes a regular thing, home team hosts the game day thread, bet remains standing each time. Loser gets to moan about shit refereeing decisions, winner gets to tell them it's their shit team not the ref. Seems like a marriage made in heaven. Management from both sites up for it so sounds like fun.
That said I might spend some time here during the year if that's ok. Right now I have to head back morkels posted in our Religious Discussion Thread, so time for an argument. Cheers guys.

That is some serious salt. So it's more ethical to lie to a player, media and public then answer honestly and try to keep that player well grounded and on the road to wanting to improve themselves? In essence, wanting for him to be a better player is wrong....yeah ok...

Luckily we have just the right kind of nut jobs to take him on. When you follow a team as erratic as the Warriors the social forums are often busier than the footy ones. There are only so many ways to say "we suck" and so many ways to demand the coach and some players get sacked. Arguing about religion, gay marriage and the best colour jellybean is like taking a mental health day.

Wait until you get the Morkelism lecture... and there goes your mental health.

Wouldn't surprise me after getting rightfully owned on NRL 360 that he would try to justify any means to put the boot into Bennett.

To be fair he's just dipped his toe, no thesis yet, but we're stockpiling supplies for the attack.

Almost 24 hours later, does the glorious victory still taste sweet, our lot generally seem to be taking it OK, keeps going back to the "would we have taken 5/1 record before the start of the year." Obviously that's a giant Hell yes.

Yeah .I Agree ,your lot are looking the goods in 2018. Could be green was the missing piece of the puzzle.

Yeah a 5/6 start is something any team would take going into the season. For your side it will be how you respond to the loss against us that really matters and really I wouldn't be in panic stations over one loss so early into the season.

A really good and much needed win. Having Bird take on the line and actually stop players in defence is a welcomed comparison to what Kodi has been serving of late. For me, McGuire has been our best week in week out. His metres after contact seriously help us out of our end zone early in the sets. Same for Oates. One thing I really liked was the Warriors fans. I was at the game in Newcastle and the fans were booing Lodge worse than any other supporters have at Suncorp this season. Was a nice change that opposition fans seemed reasonable and were more focused on the actual game being played.

He’s meant to be our 5/8 our attacking player who gets the points for us, not just a guy who puts some good kicks in.

I'm more than happy to see that type of game from milf.
We all know what he can do with space and he will have a lot more space if he keeps playing like last night.
That type of game should be his "normal" and his individual opportunities will follow when defences have other players to worry about.

Things I took away from the game:

- With the right attitude and discipline, we absolutely do have the individual talent to make the difference, even if I didn't believe we would turn it around this quickly, especially against a Warriors team playing as good as they have been.

- Oates is a fucking machine.

- Even an out of shape Bird is a much better fit in the halves than Kodi. His presence and leadership helped direct the team, took pressure of Milford, made our right edge much more threatening and mitigated Gillo's absence in defense. We still need a better kicking game, but I'll settle for this for now, especially because Milford is demonstrating the ability to improve his.

- Boyd can still run. The way he kept up with Roberts in that line break, makes me believe his injury isn't bothering him anymore, so the problem is elsewhere. Whether he could have gotten to the ball or not, he was too tentative and not decisive enough, then just watched Green pick it up and put it down. He then repeated the lack of effort in Johnson's try, again just watching it all unfold instead of showing any form of desperation. I know people will put it down to my bias, but I can't accept that from a captain.

- Lodge walks the walk. I know how painful a rib injury is, and even with a needle, I can't imagine hugging someone, much less run full pelt into opposition props or tackling them.

- Ofahengaue can be the prop we need, and perform at Arrow like levels. He isn't an impact player though, so I would advocate for him to start alongside Lodge, liberating TPJ to maintain the impact from the bench.

- Although Moose was better this game, I still don't think he should be a lock. If Su'a continues to perform as I think he will on that edge, I'd love to see Gillo take the jersey 13 and add a new dimension to our lock's game.

- Did I mention Oates is a fucking machine?

Like a lot of people have said, credit to the Warriors fans on the park, their forum and here. They can definitely count on me jumping on their bandwagon if the Broncos fall short, and I hope they earn their maiden title rather sooner than later.

He's joined several forums for this same very reason ....I've heard.
