Taylor at 7 and arrow at 13 and we have a team that can win it all. Damn.

Throw in one of Wallace or Ese'ese as well if you want, both of them are outperforming the majority of the forwards we chose to keep / sign over them.

I never enjoy losing but there were plenty of positives in that game. We paid a heavy price for a lack of cohesion with our backs, but our forwards were great and probably pipped Melbourne's.
Milford played a great game, despite that late error (they happen).
In general our backs were ok but a well drilled side like Melbourne makes you pay for every mistake. We could have dropped our bundle but didn't. Shame that first Melbourne try was given. It might have rattled them if it had been called correctly. As it was they got into the groove and are the best side in the comp when momentum is on their side.

They also expertly exploited our Boyd problem. He may get a rap for his 'organization' but his personal defensive game is shit house.

Yeah how the broncos have lost Wallace, Arrow and Ese'Ese while keeping Mcguire and Thaiday (ON more money as well) is absolutely beyond me. We have lost so many of our good youth players with bennett because all he cares about is trying to win a comp, but he has no clue how to do that. He cooked the Dragons when he left, he cooked the nights, and now i hope to god that he is retiring soon but he has cooked us as well by signing shitty overrated players on huge money for 3-4 years...

Boyd on a big money long term deal and Bird on big money two howlers by Wayne.

Jack Bird is going DREADFULLY for a guy on so much money. Needs to start producing.

Apparently Ofa made 14 runs for 130m. I didn't really notice him making that many metres/runs. I dunno, maybe the stats aren't finalised, or did I just miss them?

The Milford one isn't looking exceptional right now either. You could definitely make the argument that all 3 of those players are overpaid by at least 30-40% in relation to the performances they're putting up on a regular basis, possibly more. At least Milford & Bird are young, so they can still turn the perception around in time to make the contracts look good, but the Boyd one is done, you can just chalk that up as a net loss right now.

I place a lot of Birds form on Bennett though. He was brought here to play lock, most likely told to bulk up as well. Has since been put in centres and 5/8th. I honestly think Bennett has just completely lost the plot completely.

My two cents. Im no expert but I really think we are taking steps forward every week. No im not Sam Thaiday. Milf is showing some great signs of improvement in game management especially his kicking. We are improving and the storm are aresy , ref sucking, *****.

What we need to do is develop the system of play we want to use going forward. Let's get Bird in at lock for a start. Give some of the young guys for a run and get some experience. Yep, they will have off games like Opacic and Issako did tonight, but it's going to improve them long term. I'd rather see blokes like Hass and Fai given a run over sims tbh.

Probably because he was just coming back from a bad injury and he wasn't fit enough to be in the forwards...

Mcguire is an Aussie Rep and a walk up start for Qld..

Thaiday would be on very little cap wise

I don’t think Broncos were overall bad. Just some dumb brain explosions and Melbourne played well with the refs backing. Give our guys a break. They were in the game the whole time despite the bias against them

Shouldn't it be the exact opposite though? If he's overweight and underdone from his surgery he should be more suited to the middle of the field than in a role that relies heavily on speed & agility like Centre or Five-Eighth.. If he was playing Lock we wouldn't have to worry about his conditioning anywhere near as much.

I love the fact that the ball nearly had time to bounce twice before Slater kicked it, that's how much of an obvious knock on it was.

It is just a joke. In no other sporting competition in the fucking WORLD, let alone Australia is officiated this poorly. When you have referees simply making it up as they go along, the entire comp is compromised.

Let’s get to this biggest issue that’s now facing our season, who is going to play dummy half? We haven’t got another established 9 at the club now Waddell is gone
