POST GAME Round 7 - Broncos vs Titans

How did we not score that first try... story of our season.

30 years? Sorry dude but you didn’t watch the late 90’s magpies or chargers.
Wests of that era were so bad that the team for one game I remember had Lincoln Ridiculous, the son of the coach no less starting and he wasn't even good enough for reserve grade!

Didnt rule on forward pass it was knock on.
Still got it wrong. That is called knock on 100% of the time in any other game.
Moses did something similar in the late game but was more backwards if anything but it got called knock on.
No knock on for me. Someone a bit more tech savvy might post the stills, but when he touched it on he was just behind the ten metre line. His arm was out stretched, so over or on the line and then the ball bounces on the line. Flat at best. If it had been at the other end we'd all have been happy enough to see it given the benefit of the doubt.

That's your take on it, but what I said was that is called knock on 100% of the time in every game every week........

Except when it's against us.

Because he passed it too early.
Needed to commit the defender more so he couldn't just drop off and take the winger.
Pretty basic really but it shows where we are at at the moment.
I don't know whether you blame the coach or the player but something is very wrong.

Niu just got a bit nervous in his first game and decided to take the less selfish option of passing. In his mind if he throws the dummy and it doesn’t work he’s bombed a certain try. With hindsight we can all see it was the wrong option. Good signs though.

Anyone watch the press video with Boyd, Croft and Offa?

Got a bit touchy at the end with Boyd telling the media they can stop asking about the halves when Croft was asked if Dearden on the bench was putting pressure on him. Even Offa got defensive.

In short though all they really said was we are shooting ourselves and not doing small things correctly.

This team has all the necessary skill and heart to be competitive.

Seibold mentioned a critical factor during the presser but I don't think he is aware that he can do something about it. It's the speed at which we play the game.

In the presser he said something about panic but that's how we are playing most of the time, we are always in a panicked state. I've written about it before but rhythm is everything in sport and music amongst many other endeavours.

Rarely do we see Melbourne disorganized and they can appear to be doing things at speed but it's somewhat of an illusion, a sense that good timing strengthens. Their team has learned to play slowly, finely tuning their timing and as it improved it gained speed.

We can do it too by slowing down in order to gain timing and choice. We give the smothering defence all it needs because we shorten the time each individual has with the ball in hand. We need to change the offensive teams timing and to do that you need them flatfooted, rooted to the ground and not up on their toes timing their brick wall response in sync with a one out flat pass hit up.

I thought Seibold had all the speeds and velocities timed down to the milli seconds

Hi-Lite of the night for me was Cooper Cronk laughing at Siebolds press conference. “I think Im the right person for the job”
i knew this fckwit couldn’t coach, pretty clear self affirmation is not one of his stronger points either
i see in the poll that some still think denial is a river in Egypt.

Name a bigger fall from grace then Corey Oates (other than Milford or Boyd), what the actual fk has happened to the bloke?
To the Cowboys, Titans or media PLEASE. Just not in a Broncos jersey moving forward.
If we were serious, there is no way he is picked in the 17 for next week, in fact hopefully the ref makes an offical complaint on him and is sidelined for a few weeks. Seems to be the only way he'd actually get the boot from the side.
He is just so rubbish, I legit cannot believe it.

Proud Queenslander and mad Broncos fan since inception. Was Rabbitohs fan from early 80's. Having your coach stolen after 1 year P!$$ed me off and I was so glad Bennett refused to quit. I am loving these Broncos floggings. Till Seibold and White are gone, I won't be supporting the Broncos. Paul White, CEO since 2010. ZERO premierships. 4 Coaches, What do you think the problem is here!!!!!!!!!
As proud Bronco fans, these losses HURT. Yes we can see the potential upside, that they might bring needed change, but that just dulls the pain a little.
No fan likes, let alone loves, these floggings.
You are not a fan, and can **** off back to Redfern.
I'll drive you myself.

If you want a great example of why we're losing every week, all you had to do last night was watch a single set from Parramatta coming out of trouble and compare it to ours.

Every single run from Parramatta was with purpose, they fight to win every single encounter, whether it be post-contact metres, getting a quick play the ball, forcing the ref to call a repeat set of six through pure determination to get on the front foot.

Meanwhile, our guys lumber across field, have zero desire to put in that extra bit of effort to burst through the defensive line and win the physical encounter, zero care in the world if the opposition lay all over them, they're not even fighting to get up most of the time. Nobody running on to the ball at speed, always jinking and jagging before the line, too scared to actually try and make in-roads through the middle of a defence.

This is why I'm sick of Pie man praising our effort in every post-game press conference, this team is NOT putting in 100% effort. Our forward pack should be fucking slapping each other in the sheds before the game like Raudonikis, they should be going in to every game saying 'We're going to fucking annihilate the opposition's forward pack'. Instead it seems like they're just going through the motions, looking forward for the game to be over so they can have a beer with their house mates and go home to play some Play Station.

Lack of desire, lack of pride. That's what is wrong with this team.

For the first time this year I thought he went okay and actually had a crack

The sad part is every week we have a few blokes putting in incredible match winning efforts that are just bring Let down by the rest of the team bring pitiful.
For example this week it was Haas, Glenn, Te'o and Oates was respectable. The rest were rubbish though.

The other week lodge and carrigan were stand outs by trying to win without possession and smashing them.

The trouble is that even though he had a crack, he just doesn't seem to as effective as he once was.

He looks fried.

For mine his days as a winger are over. His defensive reads out wide always fill me with fear - he is always leaving it and coming in. He wants to play 2nd row and I reckon his performances there were ok.
