Round 8 Discussion

The tigers are finding out what every coach knows but every fan and the media forgets...

You win games then teams take you more seriously and come after you with their best efforts and game plans. Out of the warriors, tigers, knights and dragons I'll be very surprised if more then 1 of them are in the top 8 by the end of the year. It's like people have amnesia every year, dragons literally did this last year and missed the 8-attack is much better this year but their defence was actually stronger last year and they will have more rep players to manage this year as well (not saying they will be one to miss out though).

It's a long season. Form at the right time, injuries, and a fair bit of luck lead to a big run in the finals (not round 4 & 5 form)

I think Dragons are still the most impressive of the 4. I think they'll drop off towards the finals, because they don't seem like they have an extra level, but they are still pretty damn good at their best. Their halves work so well when theur forwards are going strong, since both are very direct, taking the line on constantly...and their forward pack is pretty fucking damn good. If someone can contain their forwards, they'll probably struggle more, and this is where Melbourne would come in and choke it out of them.

I thought this games was pretty great too. I was cheering for the Tiggers, because seeing Norman and Moses happy makes me vomit in my mouth a bit. The atmosphere on TV was soooo good though. I dunno if they miced (miked?) up the crowd more than usual, but it was so loud towards the end. I think it's what got the Eels home.

Maybe Suncorp should install some microphones under each seat too?

I think they might have added a bit of extra crowd noise..

Agree completely.
Just on the storm, coach c smith's ability to control the tempo and mix up the game plan on the run means they keep up that pace all year. Unfortunately....

I doubt the Tigers and Knights will make the 8.
Would be very surprised if the Dragons and Warriors miss out. I am not reading too much into that Warriors performance against the Storm. They really missed Johnson and Tohu, not to mention Luke. Mannering is getting his fitness back too. Worrying signs as Storm are returning to their form from last year with Jacks in the side - Munster looks better too.

Knights would have been a great chance with Pearce fit but can't see them making it unless Ponga can catch fire. Tigers should be steady when Packer returns but I think there are too many better teams below them.

Dragons seem to be exceptionally lucky with injuries at the moment. It all went to shit when Widdop was injured last season so if he stays fit they should make it comfortably.
