That's the bit that gets makes me think we won't win. These players have an unbelievable reliable record for getting ahead of themselves and thinking they are hot shit after 1 or 2 wins, leading to a weak effort... I was more confident about the sharks game

Actually you quoted my response to Sproj who said discussed Kennedy Vs Palasia, that's where this all started. So it has plenty to do with Palasia.

Mate, in the greater scheme of things, does it really matter if someone else believes RK has been good for 2 games rather than 3? It is just an opinion, and opinions are like arseholes, everyone has one, some are just crappier than others.

He’s been reliable to better in the last two games. He wasnt great the game before and was dropped before that which probably was the reason the game wasnt great

We all get upset and frustrated when we drop games that we should win (like Warriors and Cowboys), but a little perspective certainly makes this season look a lot better.

The Cowboys who we all thought we could beat just towelled up the premiership heavyweight Eels and are looking more like top 8 contenders than the wooden spooners some expected before the season.

Speaking of the top 4 hopeful Eels… just a fortnight ago they lost an ‘unlosable’ game to the winless Tigers.

On the topic of winless teams, the cream-of-the-crop Roosters with their ridiculous sombrero roster and the blatant aid of the referee have now lost 2 in a row to bottom 4 teams and given the Bulldogs their first win of the season in the process.

This puts the Roosters at the same win-loss record as us at 8 rounds in.

The point is… every team (even genuine premiership contenders) battle with inconsistency and drop games they shouldn’t and sometimes the teams you drop seemingly ‘easy’ games to aren’t as bad as we may think. Lots of encouraging signs if we can continue improving, bad games even happen to good teams.

That's all well and good to have perspective but the other side of the coin is that the aim of the game is to be the best. When fans watch the game, they're not comparing themselves to the Titans, they're comparing themselves to the Panthers and they can see they're well and truly off the pace.

Yes, Rome wasn't built in a day yadda yadda yadda but they didn't sit on their hands either so when fans see efforts like the first half against the Bulldogs of course they're going to be upset and call that out.

He wasn't great but I didn't claim that. He was good as he was in the two victories. He was unfairly dropped after the first game when he was clearly superior to James and that point has been rammed home by James's absence in favour of RK. I'm not dying on any hill as week by week I'm being proven 100% correct in the face of a barrage of criticism.

I haven’t seen anything that Walters does in attack at hooker that Turpin can’t. And Turpins defence is far far better imo. Better balanced side with Turpin starting at 9 and paix coming off the bench if you ask me.

Agreed, I’ve seen enough of him to be satisfied in my own mind, we are going nowhere with him at hooker. The (falsely attributed) Einstein quote springs to mind as far as the Broncos use of Jake Turpin is concerned…

We’ve looked much better with a part-time and a half manufactured into hooker than we have for years with this “genuine” hooker.

Walters and Paix take pressure off Reynolds (and to a degree the no. 6 whoever that may be) by presenting at least some degree of attacking threat to the opposing side, every other side knows they can basically ignore Turpin because he isn’t going to hurt them anyway.

To me, the best part of his game is worse than Maccas and he has no upside on the areas of the game Macca was poor at, which led to us recognising that and cutting him.

We are infinitely better off with Walters and Paix IMHO, until the club can get off it’s arse and finally find an actual NRL quality hooker…
