POST GAME Round 9 - Broncos vs Bulldogs

Definetly small players can't be great.

TPJ/Haas should be our 8/10 for the rest of the season. Flegler needs to be demoted until he sorts out his handling. If you can make it 2 weeks without a mistake, welcome back to first grade. Although I guess that doesn't work with no reserve grade comp now.

id accept staying on the park all season instead of being suspended for a quarter of it....

If he can do that, then we can look at his performance out of 10 each game...

I disagree, he had to come in, he was following his centre.
It’s at the stage where he just needs to be told to stay on his man. Don’t come in because they’ll get the overlap that way anyway. At least if he stays out, there’s a chance the cover will come across. Let’s face it though, either way is not great.

I don't think they should. These blokes are already getting such confusing messages. Coates is doing what wingers should do, he is following his centre, that is where the issue is. Look at the freeze frames in the tries, Farnworth/Croft are all at sea and that is the issue.

Bowan, Coote, Slater, Lockyer, Stewart, Churchill....... there are plenty great and good small fullbacks
All the current elite fullbacks are over 6ft. That’s great there have been elite fullbacks in the past that were smaller but we ain’t living in the past

We never were.

Yeah

6 of the fullbacks that played this weekend were 6ft and under, including RTS and excluding Tedesco by half a cm.
I forgot about rts tbf. I’ve got teddy listed at 6’1 🤷🏼‍♂️

And rts is 6ft anyway

Two inches taller than Niu

Height isn't that much of an issue for Fullback, most times a team kicks on the 6 it hits a winger.

I'm liking what I've seen from Niu, he still looks a bit raw but he puts himself in the right places and with TPJ in the middle tries are going to be there for him to pick up, he is extremely fit.

Did you only just watch the game? They were both pretty fantastic tries.

So he was trying too hard?
Just surprised that you can death ride Boyd for years on end and still somehow praise Isaako. Seems odd

5'10 - Dufty, Niu
5'11 - RTS, Brimson, Paps, Drinkwater, Josh Jackson
6'0 - Boyd, Hoy, Ponga, Tedesco, Hughes
6'1 - Allan, Hopoate, Fido, Holmes, Johnston, Moylan, Morgan, Norman, Munster
6'2 - Dugan, Wighton, Meaney
6'3 - Gutherson (I was really surprised about this)
6'4 - T.Turbo, Mitchell

He's definitely small compared to the other fullbacks but Dufty is not bad company to be in. Most of them are around that 6ft height. I like the fact he is something different. The Broncs have been playing catch up for years, time to try and get ahead of the game for once.

I actually dont have much to say except its a win...We are still so far off being a functional working team its not funny. The improvement in defense was positive, however its not a big indicator because after all it was the bulldogs.

Next week will tell. Hopefully the media shit show stops during the week as well!
