POST GAME Round 9 - Broncos vs Bulldogs

Me at 7.30pm

“Scrappy game but gee it was good just to have a win again after going months without one. Some positives but same worrying signs still remain. Our discipline and handling is still diabolical. Our attack is very lacklustre and still rely on individual brilliance. Don’t expect a win against the Tigers next week. Think we are going to get pumped.

Good to get the win. Couldn't care less how we did it. Glad Boyd did well. Cops a lot of shit on here including from me. TPJ and Haas should be the front row from now on.
Tigers next week will be tough but confidence should be back.
Finally credit to Seibold for listening to the players and showing some flexibility. I genuinely want him to succeed and hope he does.

Haas and TPJ were massive.
Paix and Darius both deserve a special mention. Time to shop Lodge and Isaako around. Fleggs errors are going to kill us.
I don't know why you are dirty on Lodge? If he comes back from his knee problem he'll be a great partner again for Haas. Anyway, this is about celebrating 🗣💦🥒

I don't think he knows what's going on.

Fifita has been cleared.

News came out after that from Joel Gould that he wasn't returning next week. Think there must have been a setback or additional soreness.

Croft needs to go. Still doesn't lead us around at all and that edge is abysmal in defence. Give Dearden a crack.

Don't think Herbie brings much at all. Too small and doesn't make many metres and is part of that awful right edge defence.

Next week staggs comes in for Herbie, Fifita in for Glenn, Dearden in for croft and anyone in for flegler.
Fifita is weeks away. Kennedy is in next week for Flegler. Croft and Milford won't be changed.

Ive been saying for ages that Croft is rubbish and probably has been one of the most disappointing players. He is terrible, awful kicking game, positionally poor, does nothing. Milford's kicking game is really really underrated and was great tonight.
Yep and with Kevvie as coach he'll be class

It's a start, and could very well be enough of a confidence boost our young players need to get the ball rolling on some form.

I'm not prepared to throw Croft to the wolves, I still think Milford has the bigger target on his forehead.

Nui ran well and if he keeps improving could help take the heat off our halves. I also think if he keeps bringing the ball back strong it helps keep our forwards fresh and we start more sets on the front foot.

It seems mandatory the refs put atleast one of our players on report. Have we had a round we haven't had a player sitting out suspended? Watch Oates get suspended and the dogs pair get off with fines or can play with early pleas.

Well I think what this says to me is that this is not a 'structure' team but rather an 'ad-lib' team.

That's what Seibold needs to embrace, sure a couple of simple plays but ultimately hard direct running, supporting the forwards looking for offloads, good kick chase and let the boys keep the ball alive and play a bit. Then just work on that defence to recover from errors.

I guess truly that's how we have always played, we are not the Storm.

Line speed was a lot better as was our tackling. That's a very good positive. We now have to work on our edge defence and wingers just have to stop coming in. We leak so many points out wide.

I thought Boyd was very good. Having Patty in the middle made such a difference to our defence. He was immense in his running game and defence. The next level for him is to offload
