POST GAME Round 9 - Broncos vs Panthers

The Panthers became desperate.......They had no structure whatsoever in the second half......Hard to defend against that......There was so much luck in their tries.
They will try that againt NZ next week and you watch how many times they drop the ball.

This is true, but at the same time tackles stopped sticking and we stopped looking dangerous with the ball in hand.

That performance from the refs was absolutely disgraceful.

I didn't expect much after last week but fucking hell, that was blatant corruption.

How many times did they run behind players and not surrender like they are supposed to?

What's with Kahu's goalkicking? Is he afraid his leg will fly off if he kicks it any harder than a tap?

He must get under it too much because he gets the height no problems.

First home game attendance this season, can't fault the result. First half was fantastic execution exactly what we needed to put Panthers out of their comfort zone.

Bit disappointing to see Penrith work their way back in, but it was off the back of the customary square up. Would have liked to see us hold them out but our scrambling defence was on point for much of the night.

Fingers crossed for a minimal lay-off for The Jet. Again one of our best tonight. As others mentioned, immediate reaction from Roberts and trainers was favourable. Here's hoping.

Thrilled we put the boot in with that last play off the scrum. Pass was highly contentious, but I loved seeing that killer instinct even with the result beyond doubt.

Why is there ref blunders. Every. Broncos. Game.

Probably similar to a golf swing where if you try and put more power into it it can throw everything else out.

He hits it so nice and straight that putting that bit of extra power into it could throw it off slightly and although it would have the distance it probably won't go as straight

Like I said.. Was like watching a trial match of broncos V jets. Their structure Is to have no structure.

Channel Nine never showed a replay of the Moga offisde penalty. Fancy that.

I knew a stitch up was coming. I didn't expect the boys to be up by 22 when it did. A pleasant surprise.

All in all, another quality episode of Monday Night RAW.

Square ups? The panthers led the count at HT and only extended it in the 2nd

Panthers must be playing lots of Madden. Reverses for days

Yeah, eventually. Needed to be there the previous 15min too but it was not.

Good win, unlucky not to have won by a bigger margin.

The Panthers started with a real point to prove but their attention to detail was lacking. You can argue the toss any which way, if you carry the ball that loosely you're going to be susceptible to a loose carry and I'm glad the referees showed some common sense and punished Penrith for coming up with an error.

When it was the Broncos turn, they unleashed James Roberts and he was simply amazing. I was thinking the other day how symbolic these past few weeks have been for him. First he scored a hat-trick against his last former club the Titans, he put in a strong performance against the Rabbits and tonight he was just pure electric. Fingers crossed the injury isn't as bad as the trainers made it look and he'll be right to go in the short-term.

I thought one of the major positives was right before half-time. The Broncos started playing some silly backyard footy with no-look passes, forcing them to cover and I thought their desperation was outstanding. I truly believe those efforts right before half-time snuffed whatever comeback was on.

In the second half, the Broncos just went set for set, resulting in a good strong try to Korbin. Then they went off their game a bit and were just too cute. I could understand why Boyd would put a grubber through, but he had Jordan 'I make Reed look like Roberts' Kahu on the wing. I reckon Sammy would have got there faster, fortunately Kahu is so talented he doesn't rely on pure speed to make his way into the team.

But yeah those cutesy plays proved the bane and once Penrith got a sniff, they went on the front foot and just played silly football. It looks great when the passes are sticking, but it isn't always going to work out and McGuire showed why coming up with two very important possessions. The only concern really was Kodi in defence, with Gillett being a little off, you could tell how bad he was and he became a very easy target for the Panthers defence.

Also, is Wayne's ploy to play a back on the bench panning out or what? Once again, thank god we had somebody there and didn't just give Penrith an easy advantage to exploit like in Round 3 2016 where they just ran at Reed's vacant corner.

Very enjoyable win and to go 4/4 with another home game up our sleeves is very encouraging.

Couldn't understand how they awarded Moylan's try, ball clearly bounced that rarely happens unless the player forces the ball down with some force... Seems the bunker is.just becoming more random

To be honest the penalty count is such a minor issue to me. It got them maybe 1 try on the back of the multiple sets on our try line. The rest of the points came from us switching off and not sticking to what worked for us for 50 minutes prior.

"Insufficient evidence to overturn the live decision"

**** yourself Bunker, you looked at it long enough so you had a fair bit of doubt there.

I think it's one of those tries that you see in your team's colours. If the ref called it no try before going upstairs, it prob would have stayed no try. If it was us instead of Moylan, we'd be defending the decision too.
