OFFICIAL Rugby League World Cup Discussion

"Hey bros lets go with fucking David Kidwell as head coach and Adam Blair as captain"
"Chur cuz, i love getting knocked out early and having the worst NZ side in years"

Gitta have a numpty clean out

I think that is the first tryless game since Game 1 of the Origin series.

That's one of the biggest upsets in Rugby League history, if not the biggest.

Moments like this show the international game needs to be taken more seriously.

More funding needs to go towards it, especially towards the second and third tier nations. Development, match payments etc.. Star players might be more compelled to play for them if they are going to make the same money as they would playing for the tier one nations.

If the island teams got first choice of the players, a la Taumalolo and Fifita, rather than getting the leftovers from the Tier 1 teams, the world cup would actually be competitive. If they can balance the pay disparity, we'll see a lot more players playing for their nation of heritage rather than their adopted nation, and rugby league will be so much better for it.

As a rugby league fan, it's fantastic to see Tonga and Fiji in the final four.

And with the best halfback in the history of Rugby League on our side, no way can we lose.

Hope so but I think they'll be too one dimensional. Bash and barge wont be enough. They play too much like that. Very little creativity.
Yeah I agree, the English will be a bit to classy for them, but let's hope PNG give them a red hot crack.

Lebanon was a prime example of how important the spine is to winning rugby league games. They had some weak links but had above average players in the spine. PNG lack this imo but they will be game as always.

PNG are going to get rolled today. They struggled against the rugged defence of Ireland, and I expect England to be similarly hard to crack and more professional in attack.

Wouldn't mind seeing PNG bag a win, but ultimately I hope to see Australia challenged a little in the finals, and England appears to be the only team capable of doing so.
