RUMOR: Ben Te'o to Brisbane

Love how in that article, he basically tells the world one way it could EASILY be done. That's brilliant, the Broncs management probably just went, 'Hmm...there you go, that's how we do it!'

dont no about signing ben teo love him as a player but with matt gillet, alex glen, sam thaiday and possibly corey oats not to mention james gavet who didnt play this year due to injury do we have room for him and where would we put him in the team if corey parker was retiring this year we would need someone like him or marty taupau but i think it is a year to early

does any one know about the james gavet is he a good player or not?

Well we never really had a chance to see for ourselves this season as he was injured very early.

He has plenty of potential to be a good impact prop off the bench, and hopefully he can provide that for us next season.

Te'o would be a good get, no doubt. An upgrade in some respects on either Glenn or Gillett.

That said, either is quite serviceable, and neither is begging for replacement. Ben is hardly a necessity for us, so if the terms of his mid season contract aren't tenable by the NRL, we shouldn't lose any sleep over it.

I think we're doing quite well polishing up some rough diamonds in Ofa and Wallace, with Ese'ese and Gavet in the wings, hopefully both to progress nicely. We're doing quite well building up the foundations of our next generation forward pack without spending big.

Don't forget Molo, Arrow, Su'a.... Our forward depth is solid

Look for more signings in the backs soon

True that. I haven't seen much of the 20's but if even a couple make three step up we are very well stocked.

Any hints on the backs we're targeting?

"Wayne Bennett has opened the door for Ben Te’o to resurrect his career at the Broncos as the Cowboys yesterday ruled out signing the former Queensland Origin enforcer.

Bennett believes the Broncos can benefit from the same NRL salary-cap rules that last week enabled South Sydney to re-sign Sam Burgess after his turbulent stint in English rugby.

It was feared the NRL would move to block Te’o’s mooted return from Irish rugby if a club attempted to sign him to a basic, second-tier contract.

But The Courier-Mail understands Te’o will be back in Brisbane next season if the Broncos are prepared to pay at least $350,000 a season for the premiership-winning Maroons hitman.

That was the figure of Te’o’s most recent deal at Souths in 2014 and the NRL’s salary-cap auditor will formally approve any fresh contract offer that matches or exceeds that amount."
