Seibold feels like they gave last years SuperCoach winner an NRL gig as first prize.
“Drop this guy, pick up this cheapie. Oh this guy qualifies as a centre? Hell yeah!”Seibold feels like they gave last years SuperCoach winner an NRL gig as first prize.
It would be nice but not even remotely realistic unfortunately. You can't go home again. Is it too late to bring Wayne back for a couple of years?
His main beef was with Paul White, who will be gone. Maybe we can try this process of replacing Wayne again in a couple of years. Just pretend 2019 and 2020 never happened, bring Wayne home for 2021 and 2022.
A) With a competent board, who will select the correct replacement
B) When Wayne would like to retire on his own accord so the playing group doesn't revolt against the incoming coach
We don’t have to bring Wayne back. We just need to time travel and let him stay. He’d be gone by 2020 and we’d have Demetriou running the shop. No drama, no backstabbing, no rebuild years, no unrest within the team. There’s no way we would be in a worse position than we are nowIt would be nice but not even remotely realistic unfortunately. You can't go home again.
Just another thing the club has fucked up under White.
We could replace Boyd with in his prime Greg Inglis and still look fucking terrible with Seibold at the helm. Boyd is and has been a problem, he has not even been close to our biggest problem. I honestly don’t get how people watch that insipid performance and think dropping Boyd is the answer that will fix anything.
Again, not defending Boyd. Just pointing out that the main problem with the team is not him.
Boyd making a tackle or putting his body on the line for the most part was after the fact. I’m not doing this shit again unbreakable. I’m saying he should be dropped, you win that. But the problems are far deeper and dropping him wouldn’t have fixed shit. There's a very reasonable argument to be made that Boyd's effort as captain last year is an extremely large portion of the reason this team is in it's current state.
He showed last year as the captain of the club that he wasn't willing to put his body on the line, multiple times per game. Regardless of the defensive errors made that lead to him being in a 1 on 1 situation, do you know the sort of confidence boost a young team would get if they fucked up and allowed a line break only for their captain to make a massive 1 on 1 tackle and save their mistake from becoming a try?
His cancerous attitude and lack of effort is evident across the entire youth of this current playing group. Unfortunately, it looks terminal, so removing the cancer now probably wouldn't solve anything.
With that being said, whoever is pulling the strings at the club and isn't allowing Boyd to be dropped deserves equally as much blame as Boyd himself, whether that's Seibold, White or someone else, who knows.

If we want to talk cancers, why would any player in this club put in when the coach himself took shortcuts to get the job in the first place. The players got fucked around almost as much as the previous coach did.
What if I told you the entire team was pissed about it, no less than Boyd was.I don't particularly want to have this discussion again either, I'm sick of talking about Boyd. He shouldn't have been playing first grade for the last year and a half if the team was being picked on form. I believe we would be in a significantly better spot right now in terms of just the mentality and resolve within the playing group if we cut ties with Boyd when it became immediately apparent that he was shitty about the Bennett situation and had no interest in putting in 100% for the club.
You still do this thing where you write 2 paragraphs about how everyone else is the problem in the team and then think you're absolved for not including Boyd in your criticisms by finishing the post with "Not defending Boyd btw".
I just want you for once to make a post that is unequivocally calling Boyd fucking trash, no excuses, no ifs, no buts, no whatabouts. Please.
2. Bring in Kevin Walters on a single season only contract. The fans want it. The old boys want it. Now's the time to do it. The job goes back to the market at the end of the season, with Walters already tested as one of the applicants.
I'm not sure Kevvie is the greatest coach, let alone one who'll turn our team around, but he's available, keen as ****, and would shut everyone up who's been whinging about him being shafted. It would open a bridge to the past, and help reset the rot. He's also known not to take any shit from minor miscreants, including our very own Milford. We could use that now.
That would be a start, but things weren’t much better with this lot under Wayne...
There has to be someone out there who can just get us looking like a middle of the pack side and not a friggin embarrassment...
It was much better under Wayne tbf and even then towards the end of his reign it wasn't good. Seibold at this moment in time looks clueless.

How smug are Souffs feeling right now? Fair enough they aren't exactly flying either but they look like premiership contenders compared to our rabble.
