Seibold General Discussion

I thought he did ok tbh. I'm just pointing out if people are going to bag Bennett for these so called duds, then you have to balance it out and give him credit for the good players we have as well. Even though all of the recruitment is not down to one person.
Most of these guys we have had since they were 13/14 though. Which was before Bennett was at the club. I think you can judge Bennett on the players he brought to the club, not the youth coming through.

Well I'm glad we were able to establish it was not Seibs' fault our cap is fucked. Are you really gonna weasle out of answering questions AGAIN?
What? I’ve said about a million time that’s a crock of shit. It’s an excuse, a myth, nonsense.

Yup my bad. My intention was only to call out seibolds inability to sign decent players, not to have that discussion again.
Sign players with what money? If Boyd, Gillett, bird weren't all signed long term on 700k+ each I'm sure he could have signed someone.

It doesn't matter whether you accept it or not, it's a reality caused by poor decision making prior to Seibs getting here. Facts are facts, whether you admit it or not. All those departures- McGuire, Kahu, Roberts, Sua, Nikorima. We must have 2mil to play with then that's why Fifita isn't signed yet. We are very, very obviously in some cap trouble, if you weren't so biased you would acknowledge it. I take it you are going to weasle out of answering questions then?

So to clarify your standpoint, you're saying that it's a myth that Seibold joined our club with an ordinary salary cap situation?

Could you please elaborate on that, preferably by explaining how it's possible that since Seibold signed we've released / retired Josh McGuire, Jordan Kahu, Kodi Nikorima, James Roberts, Jaydn Su'A, Tanah Boyd, Troy Dargan, Shaun Fensom & Sam Tagatese, yet are still struggling to find the funds to re-sign Oates, Staggs & Fifita, let alone the funds to sign a single player for 2020, which you're currently saying is because of "Seibold's poor recruiting"?

What questions?

Yeah I’m pretty objective about both Bennett and Seibold. I can see Seibold’s so far unimpressive coaching performances and Wayne’s flawed final years at the club. I would’ve preferred to have kept Wayne another year but can also see the logic behind the board wanting long term stability.

with that disclaimer in mind, Broncosgoat is really struggling to put forward a mature argument here.

You're really ramping it up ,have you ever asked yourself , " what's the point of posting this?" it must be really disappointing for you to really know what you want, but also know you'll never get it.

Anyways I've been impressed Gavin Marguerite for france. He's a natural athlete, silky smooth and skilled. He's only 23 as well

just because they aren’t signed doesn’t mean we don’t have the money. There are things called negotiations.

the timing of the news that we were purportedly in salary cap trouble was when we were going backwards big time, it’s convenient. We’ve never had the issues before, but apparently now when Wayne was forced out of the club, it’s a shambles? Please. If you believe that I’ve got a bridge to sell you.

Occasionally, but then I get called a weasel for not responding to something. Which I still don’t know what it is.

I think that there are a number of us who believed that it was time for a change from WB, but are not sold on Seibold yet. I was a supporter of the change, and put my trust that they had undertaken a proper recruitment process and I was willing to support their choice.

I must admit I have some concerns on the basis of what occurred this season with team selections and selecting players out of position and the fact that we could not seem to get fundamental systems in place. I will await with interest to see how we go next year, if those issues do not improve, I think Seibold is under pressure.

I just don't see the point of constantly jabbing someone who is unaware of your actions. I'm interested to know what's in it for you? Or is it just to pissoff other posters?

it’s to have a healthy discussion about the team I’ve supported my entire life on a forum designed to do such a thing.

You genuinely have no idea what you're talking about.

The timing of the news wasn't convenient for anyone, and it wasn't when we were going backwards. We've been going backwards since 2015 in almost every measurable statistic that indicates good football sides. It was a ticking time bomb, not only were we regressing every year, we were an aging roster full of overpaid players. Seibold has done his absolute best to move on as many of those below average players & bad contracts as he can, whilst re-signing the future stars of the club on reasonable contracts, and also somehow keeping us in finals contention.

I think it's admirable that we even made the finals this year with the amount of players we've had to release, on top of the shocking form of our senior playing group, and the plethora of injuries & suspensions we've had to deal with.

Do I agree with everything that Seibold does? No.

Do I think that the roster would be in a considerably worse position if Bennett had stayed? Absolutely.

Couldnt agree more with this post.

I am not having a go at WB, he has been one of the key components of the broncos success as a club and will go down as a supercoach but i think we had just reached as far as we were going to get with him at the helm this time around, and a change was needed.

Was seibold my preference? No. Was he the best choice? Like lynx i have my concerns given what we saw this year, but am hoping something clicks this off season and we can meet our potential.
