Same boat as the Storm. Absolutely it does. Talking to players at a club who can't confirm or deny that they will be using their services next year is exactly the same as rorting the caps for the past 5 years.

Nah, they binned the "June 30" deadline. The rule now is you can talk to anyone who is off contract in the current contract year (contracts end October 31).

Inglis and Slater are both contracted beyond this year, so therefore the Broncos could not talk to them unless given permission by the Storm.

However, there is a loophole in it...in that the players can ask their managers to make enquiries to other clubs while asking for a release from their current contract, even if that release has yet to be granted.

Everyone knows that the Media and rugby League fans from other clubs (yes im looking at you Sydney) love it when they are given a chance to trash the Broncos and i dont want to open the paper and read a headline that says "Brisbane in illegal talks with Melbourne star's". Just gives to many people who dont like a Queensland team being succesful a chance to trash talk us.

Like i have said if we have to break any rules in any shape or form to talk to Slater or Inglis then i'd rather not talk to them until we are able to d it by the letter of the law.

There might be a little fire to the Inglis smoke, there is a story in the RLW out today that says that the Broncos are interested and have a $1 million available and quotes Inglis' manager as saying that the broncos would be a good fit for him.

Donny I wouldn't sweat too much, who knows what has been said within the Storm, perhaps they know they have to shed a couple of the stars and have told them to put some feelers out.

I'd take him too. Let's face it, our Fullback ranks don't have anything in them like another K. Hunt, so putting Slater there long term would be a great move, but I still rate J. Hoffman. C Norman belongs @ half-back.

Inglis at left centre would be awesome. The Broncos have struggled for a while to have a decent left centre, If Hoffman plays out the rest of the season in the 1, he will deserve to be in it nest season IMO.
