SOO Teams 2010

Rocky, watching Friday night I would want Cooper inside Brett Morris down the left side. Cooper is built for Origin and has made it his fulltime job now to make Morris look even more awesome.

+1. Experienced in Origin too. Good defensively.

Morris-Cooper combination scares the bejesus out of me to be honest.

I think you are win-win with either but I would like Cooper because he is so experienced and so incredibly unselfish.

Gee the backlines in Origin this year are going to be bigger than the forwards!

With Hodges and Israel (possibly) out it means that our right side wing/centre combination will be left side players for their club if it is Lote and Tonga who are picked. I would probably lean towards Tate and Tonga on the right if Israel is out with Inglis and either Lote or Boyd on the left. I doubt Locky will pass up the chance to try and win 5 series in a row

1. Slater
2. Tate
3. Tonga
4. Inglis
5. Boyd/Tuqiri
6. Lockyer
7. Thurston
8. Price
9. Smith
10. Petero
11. Thaiday
12. Myles
13. Harrison

14. Hannant
15. Shillington
16. Bolton
17. Taylor/Costigan

The lack of a bench utility worries me but both DT and Costigan can do a bit with the ball so at the moment I think one of those guys can fill the last spot.

At this point i dont think Taylor has done anything to deserve an origin spot. Id give it to Costigan

Is Costigan even playing for the Dragons at the moment?? Lets be honest we all know Taylor would be a flop at the Rabbits.

Still time though - I just think that this year we will need some of the x-factor he brings to the table. If NSW pick Jennings and Tahu on the right side I think Inglis and DT could have a field day. On current form he would probably miss out but if he gets going in the next few weeks I reckon he could be great for Qld

Tahu never really looked comfortable in Origin and I'm still not sold he's as good as everyone says he is.

He looked comfortable on the wing. He is an amazing finisher although much of his good stuff came from having Matt Gidley putting him away time and time again.

True, but then again there are very few wingers who can look good when paired with cod-ordinary centres. Pretty much par for the course.

Nah, Tahu's alright. Throws some funny passes here and there from the Centre position I must admit.

Not in the Upper class but significantly better than your average schmoe.

What?

Below is a quote about Game One last year.

For the first time game one of the series was played in Melbourne. The stakes were high for New South Wales in the face of the genuine possibility of a four consecutive series defeat - never yet suffered since the introduction of the three match series format. Blues selectors opted for eight debutantes, dropping fourteen of the seventeen players who appeared in game I of 2008. The new faces were McManus, Jennings, Stewart, Campese, Farah, Creagh, Weyman and Poore.

And didn't McManus go on to bigger and brighter things...

That's irrelevent to your point though. You said we need a fresh team - That we did last year.

Then you talk about retaining them for all 3 games? Didn't you just contradict yourself? What do you think we should do, retain the same players or blood new ones???

no im asking if they retained them for all 3 as i could not remember.

I would like to see a Fresh young team picked and then retained for the whole 3 games instead of NSW losing and thinking "oh shit lets bring back the guys who failed the year before" as from what i remember they did last yr

Young guys game 1, No win so bring back the oldies. bite the bullet NSW pick the team stick with them for all 3 games. Stop swapping your halves around.

1. Hayne
6.
7.
9. Ennis

Find a good 6/7 stick with them and let those 4 gel.
