SOO Teams 2010

I think Cronk will be halfback if Locky pulls the pin

As much as this pains me, Crank will be a shoe in considering the other grapplers in the team, and tbh, it would be silly not to pick him - sounds like something NSW would do

I think Cronk has a massive massive head. A real life bobble head IMO. Can't stand him although he will be very good for QLD this year IMO

So the halves will be Lockyer and JT unless one of them is injured. Cronk will only be there if he is selected as a bench utility, and I don't like the idea of selecting "utilities" who are just another hooker or half and nothing more. Apart from halfback and hooker, has Cronk played anywhere else?

Fairly sure that he played in the backrow back when he was at Norths, I think he played some games there off the bench for the Storm when he first started as well.

Long time ago now though.

Yeah, Cronk was a utility to start with at the Storm and shifted to halfback fulltime when Orford went to the Beagles.

we dont need a 'utility who isnt really a utility' on the bench when we will have Harrison who can play anything from centre to second row, and probably another 'mr fix it' like Stagg etc. Smith is an 80 minute player, as is every position from 1-7, and then 13. we only need forwards, and then someone who can cover lock in the event of Harrison moving to the backline.

I am in total agreement in that respect. Never saw much of a point in having a lightweight utility on the bench if they can't help out in the forwards.

Cronk has played pretty much everywhere but prop, though I agree that Harrison has enough utility value.

This is the Queensland team I want. I really want Tuqiri in there and I would have Stagg over Luck and big Costigan for the last bench spot _woohoo_

id go luck over stagg. luck at least overs an offload in his limited attack, whereas stagg offers nothing in attack

cronk wont, and shouldnt, be on the bench.

I probably wouldn't have him either, but he will be on the bench.

Having Cronk on the bench will actually make it harder for us to win IMO

you dont have a halfback on the bench unless hes a young unproven guy who youre trying to blood. if the selectors do somehow choose him on the bench, theyre morons.

I think the fact he played that bench utility role at the Storm in his early days is still in the selectors minds. He made regular cameos in the halves at hooker, in the back row and centres.

yeah but we dont need a hooker or halves replacement, and in the back row hed be useless.

the backs of NSW have me worried, and thats something i didnt think would happen for a few years with QLDs awesome lineup - but potentially having:

1. Carney/Hayne
2. Morris
3. Morris
4. Cooper
5. Jennings/Hayne

that honestly scares the bejeezus out of me.
