State of Origin Game I - QLD vs NSW

There were about 2-3 moments where having Slater in the side would have resulted in tries.

A lot is said about Munster's performance but he poked his nose through a few times on that left edge and a couple of times there he had the hands free and looking for support but there was no one there. Slater would have been there, and if he played and he was there, we would have scored at least 2 tries from it because Tedesco was the only one there to stop us.

We aren't far off the mark.

I still think Blues will win the series, but QLD do have a chance.

Fittler believed in his selections and was clear on what he wanted from his troops. NSW always want to play the 'run through the middle' quick style, maybe Fittler has the right combo now to pull it off.

Prep is key and QLDs wasn't ideal by a long long shot.

Kev will need to make some more big calls for game 2 especially the forwards.

Oates would have been handy for them aerial bombs.

Macca needs to play 80mins. After he went off, dummy half to 1st receiver service was some BS.

The 4th and 5th tackle are the times we need to be throwing the ball around and testing the defence. But with McGuire, he just takes a hit up and it just kills what we've been building towards.

If he offloaded and passed it more, he can stay there. But he doesn't and we need a lock that does offload the ball and passes the ball.

And with hunt at half back it's usually a mid field bomb after McGuires 4th tackle hit up. Absolutely no pressure or threat to the opposition.

Scott in for Wallace.
And Glasby would be better than Hess. If Hess is just going to be used as a battering ram, might as well use someone who does it every week.
