State of Origin Game II - NSW vs QLD

I think he should be backrow or bust , glasby is a solid middle forward that can play decent minutes. Paired with offa and hess for impact , to be fair it's a coin toss between hess and papa . Both have been quite really! I'd also have McGuire start at prop and arrow at lock.

Papalii was arguably our best player in game 1, certainly our best forward. And he's in career best form playing in the middle for the Raiders. He was a bit quite last night in comparison, still not even close to being dropped, if anything he's close to being promoted to starting prop/lock so we can get more minutes out of him.

Yes you can. You need to read the rules when there is one in the sin bin. They deem the lock to be the one off the field
I'd reckon that would be a silly time to read the rules. I mean as a player I'd have to concentrate on the game but if I was a spectator I'd rather watch the game but maybe I could flick through during any ad breaks. Dunno...

Lockyer was criticised constantly throughout his career about his defence.....If a half's attack and game management can outweigh his deficiencies in defence, he's worth looking at.
Ash Taylor is not Darren Lockyer.

Ash Taylor is not Darren Lockyer.

Thanks for pointing that out...that needed to be said and I should have explained that to you earlier.

1. Slater
2. Holmes
3. Inglis
4. Boyd (I’ve been bagging him all year and I know he retired, but he played really well at centre last year and has never played a bad game for QLD, plus the injury to Morgan is just awful timing)
5. Gagai
6. Munster
7. Milford
8. Napa
9. McCullough
10. McGuire
11. Su’a
12. Kaufusi
13. Arrow
14. Ponga
15. Papalii
16. Ofahengaue
17. Oates

Outs: Chambers, Hunt, Wallace, Cooper (tried his guts out, but isn’t the same without JT at 6) and Hess (honestly, don’t see what all the fuss is about with him, hasn’t done anything since he scored a few tries for the Cowboys about 18 months ago).

He didn’t brace he lifted the shoulder and elbow and stepped into Cordner. It was deliberate and dumb af.

The important part is whether Cordner was going to have a clear run at the ball. He wasn't.

The line Cordner was running was always going to result in him running into Hunt, he doesn't try to alter his line and runs into Hunt. As for Hunt lifting the shoulder, that happened after the contact. Hunt doesn't lift the shoulder to make contact, he tucks his shoulder in, plants his feet and braces for the impact.

It's not a penalty try. And quite honestly, I've seen that let go often at club level.

Anyone who saying Chambers should stay he missed 10 Fucking tackles

The alternative is Gagai.

And once you see Gagai defend at centre, you'll be wishing Chambers was there.

My preference would be Munster, because I think he played just as big of a part in our loss as the others people are mentioning. It's also his job to get us over the line in those crucial moments, he failed. We simply aren't going to get the performance we saw last year because Smith, Slater and Cronk will all be gone.

So Munster at centre, Milford at 6.

Holmes, Gagai, McGuire, Papalii & Munster deserve no criticism, if everyone else did their job as well as those 5 in the first 2 games we'd be up 2-0.

Chambers & Wallace have copped plenty from everyone, and rightly so, I wanted Chambers dropped after Game 1 and would strongly advocate dropping them both for Game 3. I said before Game 1 that Cooper was an awful selection, stand by it, useless player. Kaufusi & Hess have also been a lot worse than I expected, but with Gillett not being healthy, there's virtually no other options unfortunately.

Which leaves our guy Benjamin Hunt, unfortunately for that lad, there is several other options we can test out, and I'm pretty confident we will, thankfully I think we've seen the last of him in a Maroons jersey.
I didn't think Kaufusi was that bad last night, especially in comparison to game 1. To be honest, practically no forward was good, including the NSW'kers, with only Cordner going just over 100 mtrs, while Cooper made 99 on our side, because both packs did a good job of defending the ruck this time.

To me, only Hunt and Chambers were definitely well below par.

We should look at game 3 to ensure Qld's future, but also give a champion like Slater a deserved send off.

1- Slater
2- Holmes
3- Inglis
4- Ponga (only for this game)
5- Gagai
6- Munster
7- Taylor (DCE is just a no go for me, and we don't have anyone else with the necessary skills)
8- Napa
9- Macca
10- McGuire
11- Cooper
12- Kaufusi
13- Arrow

14- Hunt/Segeyaro (need the spark he can bring around a tired pack)
15- Papalii
16- Hess
17- Ofahengaue

Next year, albeit depending on form and injuries, I'd go:

1- Ponga
2- Holmes
3- Inglis
4- Morgan
5- Gagai
6- Munster
7- Taylor
8- Napa
9- Macca
10- McGuire
11- Kaufusi
12- Gillett
13- Arrow

14- Hunt/Segeyaro
15- Papalii
16- Hess
17- Ofahengaue

Bullshit ! Hunt moved into him and put gis shoulder in. Cordner had to serious **** up not to score in that situation , 100% hunts fault.

If Cordner was never going to have a clear run at the ball, which is clear in the replay with the line he was running and the fact that he never once tried to alter his line to go around Hunt, then it's not a penalty try.

It's as simple as that. Cordner ran into Hunt and it's pretty clear why.

It hasn't been a penalty try for a few years since the NRL brought in stricter guidelines for it.

Taylor shits the bed routinely for club games, what fucking universe is he going to suddenly perform under pressure for Queensland?

1. Slater
2. Holmes
3. Inglis
4. Munster
5. Gagai
6. Milford
7. DCE/Taylor

Next year and beyond..

1. Ponga
2. Holmes
3. Inglis
4. Munster
5. Gagai
6. Milford
7. DCE/Taylor
9. Segeyaro

14. Morgan
15. Oates

We need to score points and I think this is a better balance.
We need a hooker to match it with Cook.
Oates can come on and play roving backrow role.

I do think the selectors got a lot wrong with the side this year, too many confusing selection choices and explanations but a lot of that comes down to the hand being forced as well with Smith's selfish retirement, the long run of success making guys like Chambers, Cooper and possibly Munster even (though I think he is still a gun) look better than they actually are.

So what it all boils down to is, why not actually picks the guys that have actually played like they really want to be there for game three. That means, you pick Oates, Ponga, Ofahenguae and Arrow and you figure out where to put them later. You also pick guys in the right position.

Therefore,

1. The elder statesmen who MUST be there - Slater, Inglis
2. The guys who have proven themselves at this level - McGuire, Gagai
3. The guys as mentioned above who are knocking the door down - Oates, Ponga, Ofahenguae, Arrow
4. Fill in around those guys - Munster, Napa

Therefore:

1. Slater
2. Ponga
3. Inglis
4. Gagai
5. Oates
6. Munster
7. (Milford/Hunt/DCE/Taylor/Norman/Jacks?)
8. McGuire
9. (McCullough/Hunt/Segeyaro/Friend/Granville)
10. Napa
11. (Cooper/Su'A/Hipgrave/Hess)
12. (Kaufusi/Thaiday/Lowe)
13. Arrow

14. (Hunt/Holmes/Segeyaro/Granville)
15. Ofahenguae
16. (Wallace/Welch/Glasby/Jensen)
17. (Papalii/Welch/Jensen/Glasby)

The cupboard (aside from Oates and Joffa) is pretty bare.

I don't see the point in sending an SOS to Boyd since the series is already gone. If we're really that desperate to avoid a white wash you'd rather beg Cronk for an encore and put munster at centres.

What are the odds that if Hunt didn’t kick on the 3rd Chambers was going to? Chambers was the worst on the park for mine I can not stand the ****. **** him off forever.

I disagree.
Boyd is simply a replacement that doesn’t interrupt the makeup of the team moving forward.
In your scenario, we move players to accommodate Cronk, which I believe would be more disruptive and sets us back in building spine combinations.
