Hartigan just said he that NEWS LTD wouldn't dream of selling the Storm until the club has been re-built

Who would buy them.

that independent director Gerry Ryan wanted to buy them.

also:

The players were Billy Slater, Cameron Smith, Greg Inglis, Cooper Cronk, Ryan Hoffman, Anthony Quinn and Brett White and former players Dallas Johnson, Will Chambers, Mick Crocker, Matt Geyer, Steve Turner and Antonio Kaufusi.

They pointed out a lot of the "benefits" were gift vouchers and things like that...it makes me wonder how many other clubs (or their sponsors/third parties) do that under the table.

Hartigan said that the four independent directors would not get to see the final deloitte report because the refuse to present themselves to the investigators, and because of that fact they have no right toi have access to this report

Will Chambers?? Anthony Quinn?? Steve Turner?? Wow. That makes no sense whatsoever.

They said the 3.2 million cheating doesn't include next year, which is rumoured to be 1.5 million.

they said in the press conference that they would be 1.3 million over for next year

Gerry Ryan was one of the indpendent directors, no wonder he wanted to buy the club.

If they are allowed to keep those four players. And if the NRL help them. It will be the biggest disgrace to the game.

if they take pay cuts i see no reason why they cant stay in melbourne. if they get under the cap, who are you to say they should have to leave the club they want to play for?

Yeah if I was part of the club I would be desperate to retain them and if they want to take pay cuts to stay then fine, they will still lose a lot of players and have to re build around that core.

i dont see any reason why they cant rebuild either. i mean, even with the rorting they basically lost 50% of their team each year, yet the new guys they brought through were more than capable of matching it with the best of the NRL.

Aren't there new rules for players taking pay cuts to stay under?

Hartigan has also said that they will need goodwill from the NRL but it will be hard to get that goodwill because of the law suit against them

They shouldn't be allowed to break the rules then, goodwill or no goodwill. If this was any other team everyone would expect them to follow the rules.

from what i remember, they just werent allowed to take paycuts THIS YEAR to get under the salary cap. next year theyre allowed to.

Ok, that's cool then. Don't see a problem with it. Good for Melbourne that they get to keep them I guess. To me that shows that the 4 big players are loyal to Melbourne. The club doesn't deserve that, but I guess if the players are willing to take the pay cut then good for them. I hate them, but it's unfair on the fans if the club just crumbles away.

Once a new chief executive is appointed, I think the Storm will realise it’s impossible to keep them all four. At least one will have to go.
