T20 World Cup Discussion

Aussies are getting hit me balls but they just can’t time it, this guy’s too quick.

Stoinis gets a 4 finally and 8 needed off the last. I still feel heartbreak coming.

Stoinis doing the job here - phew. 2 off 4 needed.

Stoinis cracks a 4 to finish. That was a lot harder than it needed to be. However a win is a win and this side will take any they can get because they just aren’t good enough to trouble the top teams unless somehow they hit a purple patch that does not look likely.

What is the story with the wickets they’re playing on in this tournament? They seem to be extremely difficult to score on

Phew. Good game. I think low scoring pitches are our best bet, more of these please.

I'd have Wade in the side at the top of the order instead of Warner, he's actually really good in T20's at the top during a powerplay. They will keep picking Warner until we lose though, that's usually what they do.

Glenn Maxwell, I get it, he can reverse hit and do all that cool stuff, how about not doing it when we just lose a wicket? we literally had 2 players out there who hadn't faced a ball.

I don't know if it's just early tournament rust or if these pitches just aren't super friendly to bat on.. whatever it is, I don't mind it. We're not the kind of team who are going to chase down 160+, a few of our big name players can barely hit it off the square (most notably our openers).

Some literal push and shove between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, that's not on guys, this is the gentlemen's game.

Annnnnnnnd Mark Nicholas is commentating, I really hoped we had seen the back of this guy.

There won't be anything gentleman-like in the encounter between India and Pakistan, they haven't played each other in a T20 since 2016 and I suspect there's a good reason for that.

Even in all forms, their last game was in 2019, they hate each other, genuine hatred.

Easy to say it now after they beat India by 10 wickets but Pakistan have got one hell of a team.

Their weakest bowler looks to be Hasan Ali, their spinners look to be very good in those conditions, Shaheen is probably the most promising quick in world cricket right now and Haris Rauf coming in late in the innings bowling 145+ with some accurate change ups.

Then you go to their batting, Babar doesn't need any introductions, they've got all sorts of experience with Malik and Hafeez, they are going to be there when it counts and if they play like they did against India, they will be very hard to beat in those conditions.

They do but their problem is always the same, they are ridiculously inconsistent. They will likely come out next game and bowled out for 50.

Does anyone else feel Australia need to start running two instead of singles? Despite a great field of South Africa, a bit more hustle from Aus and that game probably doesn't come down to the last over.

Also has Warner ever come in lower down the order?

Quinton de Kock has opted out of today's game as he does not wish to take a knee in support of Black Lives Matter as per SA board directive. Weird situation.

I heard the commentators talking about it before the game and as at least one of them appears to be a black man he was understandably upset, shocking from de kock tbh, dont understand the thought process behind this at all

Maybe he just doesn't want to get involved in politics?
