Tardy Blues brush bushfire kids

Eels, Sharks, Roosters and Panthers data not available?

It will need to be a good few years to see if crowds keep up, and the clubs can start making money again.

Some clubs are on life support. Yet, plenty of clubs have increased membership (ticketed and non ticketed) by 25 - 75% from last year. Increased sponsorship. Maintained or increased crowd figures.

With plenty of good crowd figures this year and the Bulldogs Vs Parra game this weekend probably going close to selling out, clearly shows that league is not dying in NSW.

Strong in the finals. Regular season. No hope.

Really? Why did St George and Parramatta have sell outs in the regular season? Newcastle too? Bulldogs getting 40,000 to a home game as well?

Why did the Dogs record their BEST ever home crowd average in history? Why did the Tigers average their 3rd best home crowd in their history? Why did the Dragons average their 2nd best home crowd average in their history? Why did Souths get their 3rd best home ground in 10 years?
I think you need to bear in mind this was also including Hazem's last home game.

And not that I'm doubting you, but when did Newcastle have a sell out crowd? Just curious as to what game it was.

Point is Nashy, league in NSW won't be dead until the day comes when people stop caring.

I'm not arguing that league in NSW is dead, or on the way out, and your stats above just prove that.

But, there are too many clubs, but then in saying that. If we get rid of cllubs, will people still go to games, if their club is no longer in the comp?

I know if the Broncos were gone, I would never support any other team with the same passion, and I certainly wouldn't be attending Titans games.

We'd lose some. But no more than the BRL supporters that were lost to the game when the Broncos came in, stole the players, and rendered the local comp less relevant. They can still sit around watching Wynnum and reminiscing about the days when people actually cared.

Same with Souths et al. They can continue playing in the NSW comp and their fans can reminisce about the good old days when they were in the top comp.

In 20 years time, nobody will miss them.
