THE NSW Origin team have snubbed the victims of the Victorian bushfires - turning up 1½ hours late for a kids' coaching clinic in Melbourne.
In an embarrassing blunder for the game, many of the 320 school children from the fire-ravaged Kinglake, Marysville, Alexandra and Thornton communities were forced to pass Steedens among themselves as they waited in freezing conditions for the Blues to arrive.
The late arrival earned an immediate rebuke from Queensland halfback Johnathan Thurston, whose side had turned up on time for the clinic near Princes Park despite having to travel two hours from their rural Nagambie Lakes base.
Asked if it was "poor form" from the Blues, Thurston let fly.
"Definitely. If they are staying here in Melbourne, why are they two hours late? This is grassroots. I think they could have been here on time."
.....
Asked why they were late, Wing said: "We've been training pretty hard and we just took longer than expected and had to high-tail it out here. We misjudged how long our bus trip would take."

That is really poor form by the Blues. and for Wing to say they misjudged how long the trip would take is just CRAP. how can you misjudge a trip by 1 1/2 hours. As i said POOR FORM... the Maroons made it to their training clinic and they are staying 2 hours away.
