A technicality makes it even worse. The
Cancelling it now would probably be worse for the Government.

He lied and people seem okay with that, which to me is pretty pathetic. We have border controls for a reason, and COVID or not, he has lied, and or shown that he shouldn't pass a character test to enter the country. Imagine hanging out with a bunch of kids the day after your positive result. What an absolute fucking ****.

Oh but he's good at tennis. Get absolutely fucked.

It's a very PC world when people think border restrictions are for fun and that rich people can do whatever the **** they want while the most vulnerable people who actually live here can't do shit.

Which is why it's even more frustrating that he got off on a technicality. Had proper process been followed, he would have almost certainly been denied entry. They had to wait, what, just one hour more before cancelling the visa?

It was always going to happen, people with high profiles and money always have a way of getting what they want. As soon as it became clear there were mixed messages between departments, he was always going to get off and that became clear very early on.

It literally has nothing to do with any "mixed messages" which don't exist. It has everything to do with him not having evidence, or answers as to why he was spreading the virus to kids knowingly.

Lets be clear. He got off on a technicality because a Border Force official fucked up. If they followed the rules, he would have been out of the country.

This is my point, I just didn't word it well. It all happened way too fast for it to go any way other than 'someone stuffed up somewhere in the process' and this was obvious from TA giving him the all clear to suddenly he's in Aus like 5 minutes later to hold on, why is he here now? There was always going to be 'something' that he could exploit to get off. Of course, none of this would have happened if the media hadn't got involved, once it did, he was always going to be allowed in.

Not a good look for the PM in an election year. Bowing to a tennis player

how did he bow to a tennis player?

he cancelled said tennis players visa ... the court overturned his decision

Having travelled recently, everything I read and all the paperwork had caveats saying something like its up the individual to make sure the paperwork is accurate, and to stay up to date with changes etc etc. The second Novak had to differ queries to his "team" says to me he didn't do squat to ensure that. If i were the judge, the first question I would have asked it did he fill out or oversee the paper work himself.

Novak has given so many contradictory statements so far about who filled out his travel declaration (where he lied on the form)

he has claimed in different parts of the interview that the Federal Government, Victorian Government, Tennis Australia and his agent have completed the declaration on his behalf

Djokovic has admitted to lying on is travel declaration (although he uses different words) ... then goes into PR mode to defend himself attending the events after a "positive" PCR test

Statement from Novak Djokovic's Instagram:

“On the issue of travel declaration, this was submitted by my support team on my behalf – as I told immigration officials on my arrival – and my agent sincerely apologises for the administrative mistake in ticking the incorrect box about my previous travel before coming to Australia.

This was a human error and certainly not deliberate. We are living in challenging times in a global pandemic and sometimes these mistakes can occur. Today, my team has provided additional information to the Australian Government to clarify this matter.”

“I want to address the continuing misinformation about my activities and attendance at events in December in the lead up to my positive PCR Covid test result,” Djokovic said.

“This is misinformation which needs to be corrected, particularly in the interest of alleviating broader concern in the community about my presence in Australia, and to address matters which are very hurtful and concerning to my family.”

“I want to emphasise that I have tried very hard to ensure the safety of everyone and my compliance with testing obligations,” he continued.

“I attended a basketball game in Belgrade on 14 December after which it was reported that a number of people tested positive with Covid-19. Despite having no Covid symptonms, I took a rapid antigen test on 16 December which was negative, and out of an abundance of caution, also took an official and approved PCR Test on that same day.

“The next day I attended a tennis event in Belgrade to present awards to children and took a rapid antigen test before going to the event, and it was negative.

“I was asymptomatic and felt good, and I had not received the notification of a positive PCR Test result until after that event.

“The next day, on 18 December, I was at my tennis centre in Belgrade to fulfil a long-standing commitment for a L’Equipe interview and photoshoot. I cancelled all other events except for the L’Equipe interview.

“I felt obliged to go ahead and conduct the L’Equipe interview as I didn’t want to let the journalist down, but did ensure I socially distanced and wore a mask except when my photograph was being taken.

“While I went home after the interview to isolate for the required period, on reflection, this was an error of judgment and I accept that I should have rescheduled this commitment.”

Today’s theory about the PCR positive test having a later sequence (ID) number than the PCR negative is 🔥🔥🔥🔥

I love how he's happy to blame human error on the wrong box being ticked, but when it came to the human error that caused his Visa to be cancelled 45 minutes early, he spent half a million dollars in legal fees to get it overturned.

Yup. Boot him out of the country. Terrible precedent and nothing stopping others in the future citing it as acceptable
