The Ashes 2013/14

Ffs dont even suggest shit like that

it's a valid tactic - reverse jinx, to ward off what we don't want to happen ... if I posted "we'll be none for 100 by stumps and win by lunch on sunday" we'd more than likely be 7 for 30 at stumps :o_o:

Being a Mitch fan boy I am loving his performance so far this test.

The big test for Mitch is being able to back it up consistently.

He always has this odd performance in him, then he balls up absolute dross, for our sake, I hope he keeps it up for the rest of the series.

Sensational day for us bowling them out so comprehensively and Nathan Lyon's spell was superb. Batting very well atm as well but we need to go on from it from here, great to see Warner in form.

"Broad is a wanker" pass it on everyone.

So good to hear that chant lol and he got hit in the head.

Lol at the pommies whinging about how the bouncer barrage is bad form

Consistency has always been his issue. Hopefully with McDermott guiding him he can keep it up.

I wouldn't get too excited just yet. We've had a fantastic day and we should enjoy it. Unfortunately the weather is not looking great tomorrow (especially as I'm going). Also, England haven't won the first test of a series (on tour) against teams other than Bangladesh since 2004. They will be much harder to beat on lower bouncing pitches like Adelaide, Sydney & Melbourne. Swan will also be harder to handle on those pitches.

In saying all that, it's a great way to start the series and unless there is a great 2nd innings fight back by England or a lot of rain (both of which are likely) it's hard to see how Australia can lose this test.

But if we win here, we can win Perth. That means potentially two wins to us, that'll take us a long way to a series win.

Is Chris Rogers the new Ed Cowan?

Damn, runs hard to come by.

Shane Watson - so much talent, so few brain cells

Absolutely hate Stuart Broad but he is a great cricketer there is no doubt about that.

Really enjoying the two New South Welshmen ripping it up Clarke and Warner are on fire.

I think the hate campaign that our local media has run with for this guy is nothing short of embarrassing .. it's bush league ... the bloke is an outstanding cricketer and competitor and is guilty of nothing other than playing the game with a swagger and self-assuredness that a lot of Australian greats used to in eras gone by.

He deserves everything he is going to get across the country and I have absolutely not sympathy for him whatsoever. I gave him a serve yesterday and gave it to his stupid fan-girls and joined in the chant.

What he did was blatant cheating and not in the spirit of the game in any way shape or form.

Excellent display by this pair and deserved 100's for each.
